I voted black, but I'd buy a white face for myself. I've already got a few black face watches. If I could have only one Rolex sport model, it would have to be black.

Before my Explorer II noir, my finest timepiece was a Tag Heuer Formula Chrono with a white face and while I liked it and still wear it on occasion I felt that the white faced dial was too formal for a sports watch. Just didn't seem to blend in with my wardrobe or with my activities, do love the polar and would get one, but only after acquiring the 16610LV that I'm chasing.

My experience was when I saw them side by side, the black had more pop. Purchased black and later sold for the white as I already have a number of black faced watches. I found the white grows on you and is the only Exp II I would have in my collection. If you only had one Rolex you could go either way, but if you have a black dial watch go polar.

The only opinion that really matters is your own, you choose the one you want to wear its that simple.

I've always have a thing for white face watches. Although, the decision is entirely up to you!

The White is very unique. But whatever talks to you most is the way to go!

Funny.....white is winning by a landslide in the poll, but based on the comments above, black would appear more popular....

Like Larry I have both. (Lucky me, and him.) The white has been my preference since it first came in the mid 80's (model 16550), and for a couple of years I did not even consider the black dialled ExII, and now when I have both I am using the white much more than the black, although I find the black to look better on my wrist and the white to be a slightly more versatile watch. If I could only have one it would be the white. It is also a season thing for me. The white comes out during winter, and the black during summer.

Tried both on. White is interesting but black definitely more striking and works better with the steel bezel with the black digits.
Bought black and changed my Datejust from its black dial to the original silver.
