The Verdict

Share your review, here is mine:

While many are upset that this year’s releases are too conservative, I liked them. I can’t wait to feel how heavy the gold deep sea is! The gold paired with ceramic and titanium is genius. I love the matte blue dial that appears to match the blue bezel well.

My favorite release is the platinum 1908. I personally like it with the black strap. That ice blue dial is crazy beautiful. 30k gets people that really want platinum into the market as well.

The sleeper is the blue ombré dial on the DD. If I was in the market for a DD that would be my first choice. The transition from blue to black is artwork. If the DJ comes out with that dial, sign me up.

As much as I love the new GMT grey/black, the BLNR on jubilee remains my favorite. The BLNR is still very versatile and adds a pop of a special shade of blue. Along with some very cool Daytona releases, I think this is a very classy release from Rolex.

Well not much to excited about much like it's been over the past 20 odd years, seems like Rolex is focused on expensive precious metal watches only now.

This. 80+ new configs, 98% of them being bling of some sort. Rolex has stopped being cool a long time ago.

Agree with this. The lack of new SS is my biggest issue with the release, but at least they didn’t discontinue any SSs other than the YM to my knowledge.

You know it's a so-so release overall, when the Rolex 1908 is the winner....and the only Rolex you would buy if you had to buy one.

It’s about average and what I’ve come to expect. There really hasn’t been anything to my liking since the 2020 releases.

Maybe I’m just in a different headspace when it comes to watches, but I’m quite content with where I’m at these days

I’ve sort of shirted my attention to other brands.

Complete indifference from me - nothing to love, not too much to dislike. So “average” covers it pretty well.

I can't get all the way to hate status, but I can land firmly on below average.

Average, nothing really for me. This release bumps the Air-King up a few notches on my list!

Agree. I certainly don't hate it, but it's not up to "average" by any means.

Same here. The only thing that really caught my eye is the DD36 blue dial with RG. Stunning piece

Usually, there’s at least one watch in the new releases that catches my eye, makes me want one at least a little. Nothing out of these.
I’m not a DD guy, no bejewelled Daytonas, already have a GMT I’m happy with. No texts to my SA today.

Hate is a strong word. I voted "Hate" but more like dislike. It was certainly below average for me.

Feels like these days the only sports watch in the catalog that gets an R&D budget allocation dedicated to churning SS varieties is the GMT. It is my understanding that this is because Jean-Frédéric Dufour (Rolex CEO) is a big GMT fanboy... I believe the destro was his brainchild as he is apparently a lefty.

It is a shame because I think they are alienating a lot of their core customer base running this play of trying to go up market with mostly blinged out PM releases. Maybe they don't care as I assume the margins are better and the brand sells itself. But as a long time watch enthusiast (had desired to purchase a submariner since high school), I am disappointed in this direction.

I like the new Deepsea and the GMT. The MOP DD's and stone dial DD's are cool. It seems like they really fleshed out the DD lineup. Can get just about any color and config you want now.

I'm still curious what the new off-catalogue catalogue contains!

Not really impressed. I think they're running out of ideas or lazy. Actually disappointed after all the big build-up to W&W. Close to being a snub to oystersteel fans with heavy emphasis on Unobtainium watches. Enjoyed Tudor more. Maybe time to look at Omega again. Oh well...sigh.

I think it's funny how the watch world expects Rolex to release a half dozen new SS sports models every year and when it doesn't happen everyone starts complaining. lol

I love the new GMT and the Pt 1908 is stunning. The Daytonas and Deepsea are just gaudy IMO.

Truth.
Nothing blows my dress up this year.

Some nice jewelry, that’s about it. They must be saving up the good stuff for next year.

Not much to catch the eye - platinum 1908 nice but not for me at that price. Tudor’s release was better but also not going to tempt me to empty my wallet.

Could be a white speedmaster this year for something a bit different.

The new GMT is just lazy… I like the 1908, in all of its iterations, but I’m not really one for dress watches so I’ll never own one.

DeepSea in gold is ok, too big for me but I like the blue/gold combo…. I’m biased as a University of Michigan alum though lol.

Sky Dweller is always cool but again, too big for me. And all the diamond bezels and whatever

Pretty lazy overall. No new tech (correct me if I’m wrong), they didn’t seem to solve the blue/red bezel issue or I think it would have gotten a mention or feature update.

I suppose since they introduced new models and materials last year we shouldn’t have expected more than this.

All that said… Tudor listens!!! BB58 GMT with 12.8mm thickness and coke bezel. Cue the waitlists!!!! I’ll wait a year or two then I’m going after it. Red/Black is my favorite color combo, and I don’t have a GMT currently.

It’s fine. They’re trying to move up market with expensive PM pieces. Like the new DD dials that don’t have diamonds like the green hombre.

They put a green hour hand in a current model. Smashing.

Everything else is high cost PM... Rolex seems to be chasing high horology brands instead of leading with their well established identity.

At least they filled the most glaring void in all of horology. The watch that enthusiasts have been clamoring for for decades..... The market for 4000m solid gold divers has finally been filled.
