Traveling to Cancun & South America... can just bring 1 watch... which one should I?

Hi squad... I'll be traveling to Cancun & South America, and I wanted to bring my SkyD Blue Jubilee especially because of the GMT function, but started to feel it's way too flashy, gets too many stares in general, so I can only think how many stares it'll get in Mexico/Latam...

Options I am thinking about:
- 116500LN Panda
- Hulk (would be nice for the swimming pool, summer, and brushed links)
- GMT Pepsi Oyster Bracelet

If you've been in Mexico/Latam, what would you bring that is the least one to get approached/robbed? I will be over there for about 1-2 months....

Thank you for your hints/thoughts!

Lol. Bring your SkyDweller. There are people out there wearing far more expensive watches than that. The sensible ones wear long sleeves

Is this a troll post?

Due to the risk of attention and possible theft you're concerned about bringing a blue Sky Dweller, so instead you suggest the three hottest "hype" Rolex on the market right now. Why not bring an iced-out YG DD 40?

But of those three, I'd bring the Pepsi...

Oh... for me it's not just about the money, it's about how flashy and prone to get robbed too

Buy a G-Shock. Just returned from a month in Mexico and never saw anything but G-Shocks, Apple watches, a few cheaper brands, not a single Rolex or expensive brands. Not saying it isn’t safe, but there are a lot of people suffering economically everywhere these days. Wearing my Rolex seemed inappropriate, and unnecessary, which is a first for me.

Take whatever you want just make sure you have insurance that covers the current market price of the watch!

You do have separate insurance for your watches, right?

Right?!?!

Right?!?!

That's a very good question, I don't, and I think I'll get one via my bank Allianz branch tomorrow morning for the one that I will bring on! The rest will stay in my safe.

Thanks bud

Very very interesting. A while ago (back in 2013) I went to Colombia, and decided to not take my 116610LN... and I got a Casio in Bogota.

I did not miss my SubC at all! And I still have the Casio.

No worries, I'll enjoy Playa del Carmen with my watch regardless and have margaritas in the pool looking at a nice dial.

Depends where in Latam you’re going… I would not wear one in Brazil or Argentina.

I figured wearing a tt blue sub under my suit jacket would not attract attention in bogota. I was wrong and was rewarded for my stupidity with a pistol shoved in my stomach in broad daylight on a busy workday on 72 and séptima (I’d just made it off the side street at JW Marriott to séptima). Your results may vary.

I would never take anything of value on a trip like that. It is asking for trouble.

I bought a cheap Casio for trips to Venezuela years ago….. literally disposable.

why just one?? wear all three!! pepsi/daytona on one arm, hulk on the other. maybe throw a DD40 next to the hulk, need a little gold in there.

put them on and stroll through the favelas in sao paulo. you'll have some great vacation memories

If you're going from the airport to the resort and back, you'll be fine. If you plan to roam around town to shop and dine often, maybe not.

Planning to go there in March and will wear my polar 16570. Enjoy the margaritas!!

I took my transparent G Shock out there. But if you insist on taking a Rolex, I'd probably take the Hulk or GMT.

Just FYI, many policies won't cover you in Mexico.

I’ve taken 116710, 116619, 116610LVC, BB Tudor to Rio, Sao Paulo, Recife, Curitiba, Florianopolis and Brasilia - no issues. Actually went diving with LVC at Chicken Beach. I did bring the WG Sub and LVC at the same time to Recife but just once, to much to think about with parties at apartment etc..

Cancun I’ve taken 116710, 116713, 116610LVC and Tudors, just one watch though, never had issues

Like any other cities just be aware and stay with groups

Have fun !

Yeah, take a G-Shock, but if you want something you won't see everywhere, get this one! I love it!
