Anyone on here monitor there weight on a regular basis ?

I've 6'5" - always been pretty active - light weights, swim lot of cycling - weight never been a problem in fact I used to be able to eat what I wanted & not put a pound on

Last 3 months been on this new contract that involved a lot of travel\ staying away from home. Normally I have toast\ tea in morning, sandwich for lunch that I bring in & don't eat a "sweet" after my main meal at night

Last few months - full english breakfast, canteen bought lunch, menu presented to me at night with starters, mains, sweet. I was staying mostly at premier Inn's with no gym facilities & combination of working late & darker nights meant excercise slowed to virtually zero.

Last night I was driving home in the car & felt my trousers digging in. I reached down & was like WTF - there was a small roll of fat popping over. When I got homeI was able to pinch a bit more of my chin & when I jumped on the scales had put on over 1/2 stone.

1st Nov - all the food crap ends. This morning - going to hit the cycle track as got a weekend off & burn some calories !! Get back into the swing of things

Anyone else ever had a wake up\ warning call ?? I'm mid 40's now & don't want this maybe to have any health effects on me

Half a stone is abit over 3kg (a quick online conversion tool will give you a more precise number).

I do check my weight quite often, the frustrating bit is that I can put on weight "just like that" and it'd get worse if I'm a lazy bum...

And it's easy to put on weight..especially if you exercise (cardio) regularly and then stop..

But...you can do yourself more harm with the stress of worrying about it!

Chill...you had a break from exercise...got busy....you'll burn it away fast.

I don't check my weight except at the doctor's office but can still wear a vintage suit I bought 25 years ago.

I weigh myself every morning.

You should check your weight like you check your banks accounts so you can control it from an educated perspective.

You should always weigh yourself at the same time of day because weight can fluctuate quite a bit during the day. What you want to look for is trending one way or another so you can make adjustments before there are more obvious signs.

The key to maintenaince is to burn more fuel (calories) than you ingest. If you are not active, then you have to pay close attention to what you eat. Reading labels is easy at home, but few place want to post the crap they are feeding us. Until they are forced to post this information, there are smartphone apps and websites you can use to check the nutritional value of meals at some establishments, but also understanding what ingredients are diet killers is crucial for the traveller.

I usually gain 7-8 pounds each fall for winter and then lose the weight in the spring. I will say the older you get the harder it is to lose weight...so be careful out there!!!

No.. not on a regular basis. I'm just under 6' now - (-shrinking with age...LOL...)
When I was on my 'desk' job 7+ years ago.. I was pushing 180+lbs /13 stone. Didn't feel good at the weight.
Now, I usually hover at around 160lbs/11.5stone, since being in the construction business/carpenter. Feel better too .. except for all the aches and pains...!

Only issue would be Figgy's little odor problem.

He's been banned from gyms because of it.

Check the web...
Not sure if I'd want to brag about that.. unless your body mass substantiates that...!!

I started running when I turned 38. I lost 45lbs. I went from 215 to 170. I am almost 41 now bicycle nearly 20 miles a week and ran my first Marathon this summer. I weigh myself every day read every label and don't eat wheat. But that's an allergy. I do like a strongbow or whiskey each night. U have to say though watch the calorie count and run your ass off. You'll thank yourself later. I'm 6'4" BTW and the same size as when i graduated high school. That's all I know. :)
