Love the post & my sincerest apologies for your inconvenience. I'd expect that your Dear Papa would write post-haste to PP & kindly request more water resistance! What's next, you'll have to learn your own heart rate on a...gasp... Apple Watch?! Might as well eat a cheeseburger without a knife & fork like a, I'm sorry to say this out loud, middle class earner. I'll be waiting in the RR if you need me with the Grey Poupon.

Such a trivial depth renders them utterly unsuitable for the grandeur of the occasion.

In a desperate scramble to maintain my impeccable image of opulence and extravagance in front of my esteemed cohort of crypto-bros and Instagram influencers, I had to swiftly acquire a beach-appropriate trinket that would exude the appropriate level of ostentation.

Fortunately, being the esteemed whale that I am, I was able to effortlessly procure this "sports watch" through the assistance of Carruthers. While it may serve as a temporary beater until I can acquire something more befitting of my refined taste, it shall suffice for now.

I cannot help but ponder whether my newly acquired Ferrari will have been delivered to the prestigious Saltburn Heights upon my triumphant return. Such trivial matters, however, are of little concern to one of my stature.

Farewell for now, my dear acquaintances.
I can't believe you did this. Peasant.

Mind you things tend to grow on me.

I actually mostly wore my Linde Werdelin dive watch, didnt want to scratch. The new aquisition mucking around in the pool with the kids. Did that a few years ago with my week old yachtmaster, not that I really mind scratches.

Out of the 5 ive got I'd say they all have their place, but agree with Kat the Bluesy suited the trip better.

Fiji was fun. Quick 2.5 hour hop for me. Was quite suprised at how many Americans there were floating around, I tend to think of Fiji as a destination for Australasians. Some bloke from LA was wearing a nice 5 digit pepsi and an Aussie a huge AP, outside of that not many watches at all, which suprised me because the resort was turbo posh. Maybe only old people like me wear watches now.

Kids had a good time. Son came with me to collect my watch before we flew which was nice.
Na that was like 20 years ago, when it was relatively similar to Bali. Now it's just a mad-dog expensive resort shop trying to compete with French Polynesia and doing their best to dissuade the poors.

Sorry you had to slum it with this piece.

I think you could have done better, why not a Nautilus or even better a PM ROC? What happens if you run into someone important in the pool or hot tub and you’re wearing an OF Daytona?

Is Patek doing any in-warranty water ingress work for new Nauts? Or is their low 30m rating 'warranty' giving them an out, so you play you pay?

No clue. I sold my 5712 for twice what I paid for it and all I have left is a 5167. That one only sees an odd splash here and there from washing my hands.

I doubt they’d ever cover water ingress because it’s too easy for someone to wear it without the crown screwed down. Then again if you’re buying these pieces you already know service costs and time are an issue with them.

Unsure but its an interesting downgrade to go from an advertised 100m or 120m to 30m. Maybe a true 30m is all anyone needs?

Well in a way I am. I quick wrote something similar and asked or work based AI sofrware to rewrite it to make me sound more arrogant etc etc. Quife a clever tool. Unlike DannyBoy v.1.
