Did the vet give you a pill syringe? Works great for cats. It made giving my cat medication a whole lot easier. It lets you get the pill to the back of his throat so he basically has to swallow it. And it's quick. Great tool for giving medication to cats.

Here's a link to one such. Click on the picture and a diagram on how it works is also available:

Yep, that's exactly what I'm using. I got two since he has to have two pills plus a syringe of liquid. I get them all loaded up at the same time, call him over for a little treat and before he knows what's going on I have him by the scruff of the neck, he starts to bawl and in goes one pill, switch to the next one already loaded, same thing. After the pills go in I give him the liquid so that he has to swallow. The entire process takes about 30 seconds, he's not happy but I lure him back with just a little yogurt and he seems to forget it ever happened... cause he comes back the next morning for more!

I just had to give my dog pills twice a day for thirty days and it was a real job. It got to a point were he would take food from my wife, but not from me. He was able to smell a pill rolled up in a piece of $8 a pound smoked ham. Finally had to force feed them. I'm glad the 30 days are up.

Good luck to you.

Yep I hear ya, I tried hiding these pills in everything... tuna, cat food pate, peanut butter, yogurt, ice cream... no dice. Okay we'll just do it by force...
