Lange VS Patek

I've been wearing these four watches lately. Which one do you prefer in this style: Lange or Patek?

The salmon dial is stunning in the flesh, however, that Lange Rose Gold is truly something else

I prefer the Pateks. More charm and sensuality. I also think the face is better balanced.

Patek for the reason of simpler HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) visually.

The DAY - MONTH wheels on the Pateks save the eye from distracting subdial complexity to see the same information.

They are not really comparable with the Lange s being split seconds chronographs and the Patek's being simple Chrono's.

That being said I prefer the cleaner and less busy dial of the Patek. I also prefer applied numerals which the Patek has. The Lange appear larger than the Patek and the 5270 is a big watch. The Patek has twice the PR or close to it, I believe which is a big plus on a manual wind PC. The Patek wins for me.

You're absolutely right. The Datograph perpetual is a more fitting comparison. However, with its luminescent hands, the Datograph presents a considerably sportier appearance. It's worth noting that Lange does not produce a Perpetual Chrono within the 1815 line.

Once again, you're spot on about the PR and the size.

Not sure but that’s a sexy collection. Is that a Lange 4 watch box?

Wow can’t believe you have two of those Langes!
Tough question, could start some fights.
Out of all those, I’d take the salmon 5270.
Out of my watches, I like the Lange better than the Patek (dress watches)

The Lange dials are too cluttered to my eye. Patek has a much easier to read and well set out data set. I prefer the gold Patek.

No. That’s a Rattrapante box. It’s unique because the box has the same design as the watch itself

Hi arbees319! Which is your favorite Lange?
As for Patek, I am guessing your favorite is the 5205?

My ultimate grail piece would be one of the lumens, probably zeitwerk. I only have a grand Lange 1 now, had to trade myrose gold zeitwerk for something but I miss it and would buy it again.
I don’t have much first hand experience with any other than the ones I’ve bought. Never seen anything close to what you got. Would love to see some more, I love the brand.

To be honest, I had to buy that 5205 to get an aquanaut I really wanted so it was worth it but I haven’t gelled with it yet. Need to find a strap to change it up maybe. It’s a beautiful hand painted green strap but it just makes for a very formal feeling watch which isn’t ideal for my daily style. Your salmon perp is prob my fav Patek. Do you wear it often? Do you wear it more than the YG one?

I don’t wear these watches often. There are just so many great watches to wear. The three watches I wear most often are these three:

Okay, I'll bite.

This is not a fair comparison as you are showing two watch types that are very different from each other.

I love salmon dials, so I do like the salmon dial 5270P and would prefer that watch.

But the Double Split is a superior watch from a design standpoint, functionality standpoint, and in my humble opinion, finishing standpoint. If it came in a salmon dial configuration, hands down, its the ALS.

You’re absolutely right. Lange does not make a Perpetual Chrono in the 1815 line, otherwise I would’ve compared it to that.
They started making a salmon dial version of it this year. I have one incoming.
