Gotham Trading NY Negative Experience

Watch listed as mint.
Took to Lange within 2 weeks of purchase and they noted a big dent between two parts of the case due to excessive polishing after the watch was taken apart which they suggested i fix with them.
Seller asks for 2k restocking fee.
Would not deal with this seller.
I have excellent references from Takuya and others as you can see. I have never had any issues with any of them. Also bought two watches from DavidSW. Happy to show wires clearing to him.

Hope you are not considering paying this? Restocking fee is the biggest scam out there...

Have puchased dozens of watches and this is a first. Super disappointing. Buy the seller first.... important lesson....

No problem. I can take the lesson. Just don't want this to happen to others.

You came in negotiated for 2 hours got your desired number, looked at the watch tried it on 12 times and kept repeating “I don’t even want the watch” I was thinking you where joking and actually wanted the watch because why else would you be here if you didn’t want it. You inspected the watch and wanted to get a different strap for the watch from Lange. You inspected the watch and it was very mint and you even said its in great condition which it was. All of a sudden it has two digs in the case which were not there 2 or so weeks ago when you purchased the watch.
After the purchase you repeatedly called me complaint that you did not get a good deal on the watch when you yourself made an offer on the piece. I accepted your offer after trying to get it up where I failed. So you won even on the price. After all this time you’re claiming the watch is broken when I had it tested by my watchmaker before I even listed it online.
You can run a reference check on me in any known dealer platform, this is my business not my hobby. Ive spoke to all the dealers you previously dealt with and they all said the same “stay away, he’s the worst possible person to deal with” On good faith I chose not to listen and looks like they were all right. If anyone chooses to believe it this clowns stupid way of getting a refund I would enjoy not doing business with that group. If you don’t believe him, thank you and let me know if there is anything I could help with.

Plus my brother is First Class Timepieces
We work out of the same office and he’s very well known and respected on all of the major selling platforms. When I told him that I was selling the watch to this individual he told me to block his phone and not even breathe the same air as him.

Again I didn’t sell him a brand new piece he was aware of that but don’t sit here and say either take it back (because I don’t like it) or I’ll leave you negative reviews

You can see from the classy response of a factual review the type of person you are dealing with. Food for thought.

If you can't see this gap confirmed as abnormal today by the Lange NY boutique, not sure what to say.IMG-20231106-WA0025.jpeg

I just recently purchased from Gotham and Nathan and had a great experience. I am a collector and have bout from probably 30 or 40 stores and AD’s. My experience with Gotham on a new Patek was outstanding. I bugged the hell out of him for days. He was super patient with me. His price was more than fair and I couldn’t have been happier with the watch when it arrived. It was new and perfect in every way. For what it is worth, he is honest and reputable and I will do business with him again.
