The New Patek Philippe Seal..Good or Bad Idea?
I am not sure about the new PP Seal........whilst i understand it goes way beyond the Geneva Seal,it is not independent.
2 committees within PP administer the new Seal, with, apparently the authority to stop all production if necessary. Whilst PP have proved beyond ALL doubt of their ability to consistently manufacture exceptional quality watches;i just cannot help feeling a little uncomfortable about this situation of in-house monitoring. I feel that it may have been better to co-operate with SoG to develop a new standard, which could still be independently verifiable. What is your view????? |

I've thought a great deal about this. I'd liken it to a business telling people they no longer submit their work to the Better Business Bureau, but they have their own internal business bureau and that internal bureau says the company is a-okay! To me, it's just a load of hooey - I don't know why you need a seal of approval from yourself. My Pateks carry the Geneve seal - and I still think it means something.
