Temptation !!

Here's the deal...

- visit your nearest travel agent and book a flight to Auckland.

- you will be greeted by one tall, bald Kiwi at your hotel or motel.

- you will be treated to a fabulous dinner and a tour of this beautiful city.

- you will then be taken to Mansor's Jewellers where you can pick out a watch of your choice.

- Mansor's will not only give you a fabulous price, but also discount (on the spot) a further 12.5% GST (Goods and Services Tax). He will hand over to you all boxes, papers, etc., but the watch you can collect at the airport on your way out after going through customs and immigration.

- I promise you a holiday of a lifetime.

Tempted?

JJ

Here's a better idea....

Why don't you go to Mansor's and pick me up a GMTII at your super duper discounted price, then go to the airport, collect the GST, fly to Texas, I'll buy it from you, and then Daren & I will take you to dinner.

The 12.5% GST is ON TOP of the normal discount. So in effect, you could get 32.5% off.

You don't get your 8% (or whatever rate) sales tax refunded to you when you buy from your hometown dealer though.

Anyway dude, the whole post was in jest....no need to pick it apart. JJ was just having fun like JJ alway does.

I don't pay sales tax when I buy here. You gotta be nuts to pay sales tax on anything that costs a few thousand. There are many ways around that.

I don't think so, Daren. Really no room in NZ for people with no sense of humour!

Okay, guys, let's take a concrete example:

My new TT YM has a List Price of US$8,200. Mansor's gave it to me for an out-the-door price of just US$7,000. Did someone say something about Rolex NOT giving discounts?

But WAIT....there's more. If one of YOU fellas comes here as a visitor, you get a FURTHER 12.5% off the US$7,000....which means you can pick up a watch of that calibre for a measly US$6,125 FINAL price.

Now....I challenge anyone, anywhere, anyplace in the entire goddamned world to MATCH THAT PRICE for a BNIB TT YM Rolex.

QED - JJ

The problem, Rashy, is that you visited Auckland, but you didn't visit ME!!! Then you'd have been eating different!!!

OK, that's all assuming a cost of US$0 to travel to Kiwiland. So if I can somehow manage to get airfare and hotel (assuming I stay over a night) for US$2,000, then I save US$75 on the watch. And that's assuming I can make the round-trip between the time I leave work on Friday and the time I have to be back at the office on Monday, because otherwise I have to use a day or two of leave. I don't know... If only I knew someone down there who I could visit, and make a holiday of it.

Corrupting a minor is a felony around these parts, tosser. That could get you 5-7 in the big house.
