I can honestly say that the number is nice, but I am enjoying myself more the past week or so then I have in a long time. Aside from a little hiccup with past bickerings and also another holy roller problem.

I think that the numbers will come, maybe soon or maybe later, but we have a great foundation for a forum that could really have some great staying power, let's just keep working at it and we'll get to where we want to.

Who cares wht the numba is....do u follow Billboard Top 40s for music...I certainly dont..lets make this an a "boutique" watch forum, put some pre-qualification criteria for members etc...lol!!..:-) :-)...I say we elect to go off list..:-)

JJ, considering that two months ago, this place didn't even make the listing, to be ranked in the top 10 on the European Top 100 and in the top 50 on the Watch Top 100's is pretty damned good IMO. We are not in a contest to be No. 1. If we get there fine. If we never get there, that's fine, too. The point is we have a great group of people here with more coming over all the time. I'm not quite ready to take up Rashy's exclusive club suggestion, but sometimes it does have some appeal to it. One of those - why let more people in who could only screw up the balance we have now. But then I remember that it's always good to bring in new blood so that we become and remain a diverse bunch. My motto - the more the merrier. So bring 'em on and let's have fun.

Waz only joshin bowt exclusive club n all....no way shld any forum be based on that concept....I think we should not worry about ratings etc....it will happen with passage of time, and when it does u and I will be ova the concept of Top 100 or Top 40 or whateva or we can buy a cuban smoke pipe...lets just hve fun for now thats all!!...

Rock, you make some good points. I've been lurking here for a while and have noticed that about 2 months ago, this place was desolate. Today, after an infusion (over the last 2 months) of about 10 or so members who come here to schmooze and produce about 90% of the posts, this forum's list rank has gone from "not on the list" to #6. To me this says more about "the list" than it does about the forum. Another interesting observation might be that, as a result of the recent migration and in spite of "the decrease in activity at that other forum which has made this forum rank #6" - that other forum is still #2!

I don't know that a forum's "absolute rank" is all that meaningful - I wonder exactly how they actually calculate "rank" - does anyone know?

About "the list" - I think it's best use might be as a barometer of "growth" (or lack thereof) considering that most other members of the "list" are relatively static.

P.S.: Is there a tutorial here about using the "post response" screen - seems a bit complicated with "features". Learning curve - here I come!

As for the rankings, I have no idea how they work, nor do I particularly care. We are not in a contest. After all, what's the prize for getting to #1? Bragging rights? Whooppee!! And it's highly unlikely we would ever make the No. 1 slot. Not with WUS so far ahead of everyone else in hits.

Nope, I'm happy we are in the top 10 and top 50, respectively, this early in the game. That means we are being noticed. The more we are noticed, the more visitors we will get, and hopefully, the more members will participate here. As I said before, the more the merrier.

I'll take quality over quantity every time.........

The rankings main purpose is to let people see our name and if they are interested they can join. In my opinion it is more worthy as a sign post to our forum than an indicator of where we are in popularity.
