PS: Rolex should start offering both PCL and non-PCL Oyster bracelets. Adding a nice selection of black and colored rubber straps would be highly welcome too imho.

That and the fact that there are far more people lamenting the loss of all-matte bracelets on others (GMT, DJ) than cheering the use of PCL. To those in that camp, going the other way seems unfathomable. I’m in that camp. For the record, I’d take no issue with modifying a GMT (brushing or replacing) bracelet.

If I wanted that look, then I would buy a GMT or the WG sub. I don't get wanting something to look like something else it's not.

That's a terrible idea. If you want a Sub with PCL, you gotta pay to play. White or Yellow gold both come with PCL.

You are taking one of the best ever tool sports pieces and wanting to make it look like something it is not.

Not a massive fans of mods. Also, the RSC will put it back to brushed, so it's pointless unless you have no intention to take it to them ever.

I had PCL’s but now they’re brushed from wear, life and enjoyment.

Do what makes you happy and forget everyone else. I also had the center links polished on my Oyster Perpetual.

I usually ask for forgiveness rather than approval. Works in my relationship and in this forum. Tough crowd. So in the future, you might want to post pictures of the polished center links and ask - what do you think. And when you get responses, don’t really care.

I think the polished center links in the green submariner above look great….not that anyone should care about my opinion.

I actually don't hate it and I'm not a PCL lover by any means! Removed them from my GMT I used to own.

I prefer an all-brushed oyster bracelet like the AK 116900. Not crazy about the PCL, too much shine and a scratch magnet. JMO.

I think it might look pretty good with polished links. In fact, you could make a compelling argument for it given that the dial isn’t matte and these watches for intents and purposes are jewelry anyways.

Jesus. To hear some guys tell it polishing a watch bracelet is akin to painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa. OP, don't worry about the uptight fan boys, it's your watch, do what makes you happy.

If it makes you happy, why not. If you had said a few yaers back that you were going to remove the full gold bracelet from your pm daytona, skydweller and replace it with rubber then a lot of heads would be shaking, but here we are, ha ha.

Do it, I think it would look great. Just remember, you're asking about a modification on a forum who hates any mods. Do what makes you happy, you paid for the watch, we didn't.

I’m still trying to understand why everyone’s hating on the black sub with polished center links when there is already a sub made with PLCs…
lol..

You are in the minority on both subjects, but don't let that stop you if it is what you like.

Historically the Sub does not have polished centers, neither does the GMT until the latest flashy ceramics.

You do you and I promise not to make a disparaging remark.

It's your watch and you should do whatever makes you happy. Provided you like it, that is what matters.

That said, if you are asking why, my personal dislike of the PCLs is that, beyond preferring the cosmetic brushed finish over them, I don't think they look good as they accumulate scratches, whereas a brushed finish looks great even as it accumulate scratches. IMHO, the brushed finish of the (stainless) Submariner and Submariner Date is one of its greatest attributes--it's a handsome, rugged finish, and, to me, part of the essence that makes the stainless Submariner what it is. Polishing the bracelet is taking some of that greatness away, to me. That's just my opinion, though, and opinions vary.

But, again, if you like this, that's what matters as you're the one wearing the watch. And, as you noted, there are numerous reputable shops that would definitely do a good job at this, should you wish to do it.

I didn’t like the idea of PCL but I’ve since changed my mind. If you want to keep a low profile I wouldn’t, but if you don’t care the PCL looks great.

Exactly, do what makes yoi happy.

Problem is, OP asked for opinions and opinions are what he got. Please don't ask for an opinion of what people think about what you've done to that green Sub (not Oyster Perpetual BTW), whatever you do!

It seems that doing it is not a lifetime commitment - so if you change your mind it can be reversed.

You could buy a second bracelet, an expensive option as it would have to be through a reseller.

My reference to the Oyster Perpetual meant in addition to my green sub, I also had the center links polished on my Oyster Perpetual.

While I'm generally not a PCL fan at all (Jubilees aside), I think it works on this better than most given the polished bezel.
