Crown sequence
I have a SD4000. I was curious if you can position the crown to the date function after having it in the time function. Everytime I push the crown in after setting the time it goes back to the winding position. Maybe I dont have the touch or its the standard operation.

It is one stem trying to multi-function.
The issue when pushing in is that you are now collapsing the spring in the crown. This means that if the stem is well oiled and moving freely, a small push starts it moving, but the spring gives it a little extra kick. It's easier to get used to simply pushing it in, then pulling it back out where you want it. No sense making yourself batty.
