Great photos. I have always loved the EXP1. Will pick it up in the future. My brother wants to buy them together and climb some mountains.

Wow! Makes me happy to see that other members feel the same about the explorer 36! I have owned and still currently own some of the most sought after Rolex watches and my favorite till this day is the two tone Explorer 36! It is so versatile that I rarely take it off, only when I switch to a different model. I love the Explorer size, it just feels perfect on my wrist. My wrist is 7” 1/4 and it looks and feels perfect!

Congrats on the discovery! I have the 39mm mk2 and love it since day01, very comfortable and its hardly a common piece to see in the wild. Took me a long time to decide on it and there's since no turning back.
If the 36mm comes in other dials , i would get 1 too. The 36mm oyster case is so easy to wear I believe.

I'm positive they will release it on a jubilee bracelet within the couple few years to spice it up and make more people wear it.

Evidently it pairs well also with a more formal attire.

Haven’t noticed yet. But I take a great care of my belongings. So after wearing the watch all day for consecutive 13 days I have no scratch at all (maybe 1-2 hairline on the clasp).

After I bought a tudor ranger, I liked it so much, I never took it off. So I wondered if I should just get rid of my explorer. Then I wore the explorer for just one day and remembered what a totally awesome watch it is.

Good to hear. I’ve never worn the Ranger. Saw it in a boutique. As far as I recall it is a watch from a different category (quality, materials and finishing-wise). It must be quite a difference switching from one to another.

Agree with 5thLegion— 36mm explorer is the best watch Rolex makes! Enjoy!
