Why the Tiffany blue watch fetch such a premium?

I don't get it. Someone please enlighten me.

It is simple. Supply (low) demand (high). I personally like the color and nautilus esthetics, but it will be impossible to see one in the flesh.

Because your friends and colleagues want it and can’t get it. Because when your AD offers it to you, you feel special. And it’s fun, clean, and a great deal at MSRP.

If most of us went shopping 5 years ago for a Nautilus and we had a choice between buying a deep blue classic 5711 or a Tiffany blue Nautilus at the same price I believe that 90% would have gone with the classic blue. Now of course that the Turquoise blue has become a "thing" with the OP41 Tiffany's and Patek who have long had a relationship are going the path of least resistance to create a high demand, small production specialty du maison and who can blame them. People always want what they can't have so .....don't give it to them....make them beg for it.....and they will in the most predictable fashion.

Because I said its the winner from the Sept 2020 release, not the Subs, and some disagreed .Ugly duckling became fresh with colorful dials .Everyone predicted the Subs ,but NOBODY saw the refreshed OPs coming .Nice surprise from Rolex . Turquoise/Yellow/Green .

Everyone wants what they can't get easily at their dealer.
Just another hyped up Rolex in a line of many.

The color is close to PM Daytona, and some of the old colorful DD which all are very limited production, and definitely unique to most other standard RL dial colors.
Will be interesting to see how long time RL keeps producing this color for the OP lines.

Hype followed by more hype followed by even more hype, and today hype sells watches. And the more hype the more sellers can charge for those who wear the hype to buy, its not even like real colour Tiffany blue.

Because Tiffany Blue sounds way better than baby blue, powder blue, or leisure-suit blue - all three of which are more accurate descriptions of that shade.

Lots of celebrities on social media are wearing the fun colored OPs. They are just fantastic watches that really catch the eye.

It is called HYPE.

Any reputable company can launch anything right now, claim it is "limited" and the fools will flock throwing money at it. It is the new world order for now.

Everyone hit the nail on the head with they hype aspect. Social media influencers and celebrities are wearing and wanting is, so others want it to look like they have status or made it. I am interested to see if the hype continues to grow and prices go up with the Tiffany 5711 that was just released.

Why does a green sub sell for more than the black one?

What I find interesting is not that we actually have a real Tiffanys blue watch in the 5711, Rolex OP in turquoise (which is a stunning color) is still referred to as the same but really isn't. Put the two side by side and one is an imposter.

PP just called out Rolex.

Tiffany, like Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci are among the “stand out” brands for ladies.

Suddenly, there’s a Rolex that screams it out, and so the demand goes crazy.
