RG Yachtmaster 40 vs. Patek 5167R

Rolex 126655 vs. Patek 5167R.

Which would you pick considering only the design and aesthetics (of course the Patek is much more expensive)?

I think both are very nice, casual rose gold options on rubber.

A lot more I'd think...but if I had the money I'd go Patek. If I had the money...

Full disclosure..I have the RG YM. It's a touch question, but the PP is brown, which is not ideal. When you add in the cost of either one, I would go with the YM.

As an owner of the YM I have to say a very tough one. I love my YM, but have no Pateks and love this example. I know the Patek community tends to look down on Aquanauts, but I love them…

I would go YM easily. It’s such a cool watch. Especially for the price difference. I feel it was cooler to start with, but comparing the prices it is a much easier choice, being in my opinion the better for less.

They are both beautiful watches. The Rolex is certainly going to be more robust

At retail PP all day. Although not a fan of the 5167 in steel, RG is beautiful.

Both are beautiful watches. If you made the Patek a 5164R it’d be an easier choice for me.

126655 has a much better clasp in terms of adjustment.

Maybe I’m partial because I’m awaiting the next 126655 from my AD but I say the YM by a mile. There are some APs that catch my attention but the 5167R just seems off to me. The look (colors and lines) doesn’t seem as “classic”

I have the YM. I thing it has a younger look. The Patek has more formal and less younger look

Price aside, 5167r for sure - more comfortable, slimmer, better dial IMO. Not a huge fan of how the OF bows out at the lugs. With that said, I’ve almost bought the RG YM several times . And for full disclosure own a steel 5167 and a blue YM.
