Seen a good movie recently?

Hi guys,

Anyone seen a good flick in recent times? Just wondered which ones were running in your part of the world and some reviews on the ones you've seen.

Thanks - JJ

Hey JJ,

Of the ones I've seen so far:

1.Batman-Great movie,lots of action.
2.Star Wars-You knew what was comming, but how Darth Vader came to be was interesting.
3.Bewitched-ok-Best thing about it is Nicole Kidman.

Saw the trailer for King Kong -- That looks pretty good!!

Is it just me or was it not very noble and Jedi like for Obi-Wan to let the poor dude burn to death or so he thought. I mean at least put him out of his misery, but then we would not have had Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi.

I saw Mr & Mrs Smith a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it. Before that I saw The Pacifier and had a good laugh. Last weekend we saw Monster in Law. Brenda enjoyed it but I thought it was slow.

Let's see, what have we seen lately? We usually see a movie every weekend.

Recent ones:

Layer Cake -- very good
Crash -- very good
March of the Penguins -- slow at times, but interesting
Cinderella Man -- very good

I can never remember movies. I'll have to ask Maureen (wife) what else we've seen. :-)

We don't see many movies. But yesterday we saw The Wedding Crashers. Very funny in spots, but about 20 minutes too long. They didn't seem to know when to end it.

Millions.

Must agree with you Peter,I thought the children give extraordinary
performances, and Danny Boyle the director is from the Manchester area
where it was filmed.Thought James Nesbit (Ronnie) played a good part
IMO a much better movie, that some of the so called top movies released
lately.

I don't think it's the same movie. I know the one you are talking about, with James Spader and Holly Hunter in it (along with Rosanna Arquette I think). That was a good movie, but there is a more recent movie called Crash that's out.

For me, I rarely spend the time and effort to see things in the theater. It would have to be something I wanted to see very badly, or needed to be on a screen bigger than my 42 inch TV. I can't even think of the last movie I went to.

I tend to wait until they come out on DVD. I can take my time watching them at home, and the new surround sound system I have is better than most theaters. Here are some recent rentals:

Mean Creek
The Jacket - quite good!
The Machinist - very good - how thin did Batman get for this role (holy cow!!!)

Some others I can't remember - my memory for what I've just seen is terrible!

Yes he was forced to stop dieting, for the making of this movie. The producers
made him stop,he was making himself ill.It was very well acted by him sure
was a strange movie.
