How come 4131 and not 423x

Hi,

Curious about why the new Daytona movement was referenced 4131 instead of 4231 following the path of other movements like 3186 -> 3285 when paraflex etc were introduced?

Thx

Because it is not a whole new movement, it's a 4130 with the new escapement.

Ok, thanks Bas.
So basically the discrepancy between the new GMT movement 3285 and the old 3186 is more significant than between 4131 and 4130?

The 3186 and 3285 are two completely different movements. Nothing except for a small cap jewel is interchangeable between the two. So yes, very much more significant.
