I won't do the trade! I much prefer steel to two-tones.

@OP - I guarantee you're going to get a huge split decision here! SD43 fans will tell you it's the greatest Rolex ever made, while others will say it's too big, has an uncomfortable caseback, too top heavy, "just a big Sub", etc.

That said, if you want personal opinions, I'll give you mine. I owned an SD43 and a 116610LN...... and I still own the 116610LN. So if I was in your position, I'd 100% go with the 126613LN as I dislike the clash of the flat blue ceramic bezel against the sunburst blue of the dial on the 126613LB. JMHO.

I would trade an SD43 for anything, including some old socks. I had one...

As the previous poster mentions "too big, has an uncomfortable caseback, too top heavy"

The only watch that beats the SD43 hands down for the crown of the most ludicrously uncomfortable Rolex ever manufactured is of course the DeepSea.

Full disclosure, 7 3/4 inch wrist here, so it isn't a matchstick wrist that inspires the above review

6.5 to 7" wrist, no problems in terms of wear and SD43 very comfortable. Just got the option to move up the chain and wondering if i should take and if so which colour as i just cant seem to decide and keep switching between the 2 !

Always get what you want - because polling the forums are going to give you three hundred different answers. If you are just looking to move up the chain for the sake of adding it, I do not think I would. I feel that the versatility of the steel is more beneficial than a two tone sub.

Wow. I’ll barely wear a new sub on a 7 1/4” wrist. Too big/uncomfortable. I’d ditch the SD43 if it was me…we’ll not true I would have never bought!

No

TT is bad, especially on a diver.

I'd keep the SD43. TT diver is a bit odd and personally, I don't like black/gold TT.

You may regret it.

Trade up for a TT SD43 if anything.

The sub is a bit small unless that’s what you’re going for.

The bluesy is the one to have in the sub TT variant.

totally depends on personal preference. Do you want something more flashy? Go TT. More of a classic / tough look keep the SD43.

I had a TT, it was cool for a while, but pretty soon I started to desire a full PM YG sub.

I would not, but that is MY taste. As someone has pointed out, which one do YOU like better? Then THAT is the one you should wear; not make a decision based on monetary value.

It’s a no for me. Not a fan of TT at all. But, as others have said, go with what speaks to you!

Assuming you have determined the SD must go, either option is nice. I’m not a two tone fan, but I’d give the edge to the Blue.

I can confirm. 7.5” wrist here. Wife loved the SD43 on me. Many people complimented the watch on me as well. I just didn’t like the fit.

Coincidentally, I was at my former AD today (lost AD status) and they had a new SD43 in box. Someone bought it new from them and returned it unworn when they realized how clunky it is.

Much prefer my BLRO / Sub proportions.

Anyway, the trade seems off.

I don't think I'll ever let go of my SD43! It just fits me, even tho I have a small wrist. I think for those who fit, it's one of the best in the Rolex lineup, that's why the Rolex CEO wears one. But I guess he probably has the entire lineup anyway haha.

And you know what? I absolutely loved the aesthetics of the watch on wrist. For decades I’d been waiting for Rolex to introduce a larger sub, so when the SD43 emerged I jumped straight in. I didn’t even try the watch, I just bought it. Fast forward a few days, during the typical honeymoon period of a new watch it started to irritate me. Always in the wrong place on my wrist, twisting strangely and rocking on its caseback. Never quite seating correctly or just supremely uncomfortable in a frustrating way. But alas I persisted, because this has never happened to me with any watches. I kept giving it another shot, but to no avail. I think I had it for about 2 weeks, of which about 10 days I never wore it. Gone.

Thanks for confirmation that you felt the same, for a while I thought it was just me until I read others on here making similar comments

Easy no for me. One can make an argument that the SD43 is the best diver in the catalog, bigger than the sub but smaller than the DSSD. Also the fact that the dealer is only asking for 2k (his commission), should tell you he rather be in your SD43 than the TT. TTs are plentiful on the market either in new or old reference, the SD43 can be discontinued making it the better keep.

100% agree. A trade up from an SD43 would be a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms or, even better, a Glashutte SeaQ. Outside of full PM, no Sub is an upgrade to a SD43.

If you’re going to make the trade though, go with the LN.
