Things happen in life for a reason, and they all have a message or meaning. Most times, we do have a very hard time understanding 'why'; and this process takes sometimes days, and sometimes years.

As I sit in front of my computer after a long morning, I can not believe I am typing this.

Not so long ago, I met a gorgeous brunette with the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. When I saw her for the first time, she opened her arms to me with joy, with purity and an impressive smile. Her laughter filled my ears and made my heart jump many times. Having her around...priceless.

This beauty, Catalina -my niece-, passed away this morning after sharing her joy, laughter, smile and hugs with all of us for only 16 months. As I share with you, my friends, this tragic loss, I know I have not cried enough as this has not set-in, and that we have a very rough evening later today, as her funeral service will start this afternoon and she will be laid to rest tomorrow morning.

When someone leaves us, they leave a very distinctive mark in our hearts, but when a kid, at such young age, goes through this; that mark is deeper. Much deeper.

I can not find words to express my feelings right now; I just hope that someday I will be wise enough to understand. Why.

My friends; I ask for your thoughts and prayers for a young couple, a family of four that have lost their youngest, as they will need a lot of support, company and prayers.

Thank you all, as always, for being here for me and my family.

Although no amount of condolences will take away the pain, I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I hope you and your family take solace in the fact that your niece passed away as a person who was innocent and pure, a person who did not know the horrors and evil of the world, a person who only knew the love of her family.

Your niece is in a better place now, watching over you and your family.
