What are the materiels in an SD or Sub?
Hey all,
I was talking to a friend who is a watch collector and he assured me that both the SD and Sub SS have gold in the bezel and in the dial, he stated that this is a little known fact. Is this just I'm not an expert but if he is right then I'm assuming that it is white gold and is most likely in the dial (maybe the number markers?) rather than the bezel... any watch guru's out there know for sure? JJ? Roger? Molex? Thanx,

The surrounds on the indices are WG, but as far as I know, the bezel line is total

I agree with Daren. Only the surrounds are WG. Everything else is SS, unless of course you have a TT. Then obviously, parts of the bezel and bracelet are YG (duh!!).

Surrounds on the indices are WG or YG as the case may be...as also the 3 hands. Naturally, on an SS watch the bezel would be all steel.

Hey all,
Another query for you all the Bezel of a Sub or SD has a white dot at the top of it when the bezel is at the 12 o'clock position, should this white spot glow? I read that the lume is not that bright in general on the dial, is this the same for all Rolex sport models? Also how much would it cost for a new Rolex bezel? Would I have to send it away to get a repair like this or is it something simple a local watch expert could do for me... Thanx again hope you all had an excellent Christmas and God bless!

Luminova lasts a very long time, from what some ppl say it doesnt have a half life. You wont need to replace the bezel for the lume, but it should cost about 80-100 Cdn should you ever need one. Jean-Cor at Damianis could easily do a bezel change for you.
