Barcelona Vacation

I'm in Barcelona for the next few days, is there any watch dealers to check out? (honestly I'd like to show my girlfriend the Panda in person). I apologize if this is a duplicate thread, I can't find any grey dealers around here.

Try WatchesGMT, it seems they have a WD 116500 in stock. (It's amazing what the Internet will tell you if you ask kindly.)

Enjoy Barcelona, certainly one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to.

Cheers

I’d just enjoy your trip
Just be mindful Barcelona is a notorious place for tourists being turned over

Panda is a beautiful watch, are you hoping to show her because that’s a model you are after ? Good luck , not many stores tend to have them in …

In Barcelona the best Rolex watches are sold by the people who nick them from the tourists. It's an amazing city though.

If you’re in Barcelona, you’ve got a few spots to check out for sure. Try stopping by the Rolex boutique on Passeig de Gràcia, it’s a fancy spot and they might have the Panda Daytona for you to see.

For grey dealers, you could swing by Rabat or Union Suiza, both have a pretty good rep and might have some cool pieces. Even if they don’t have the Panda, you’ll find other awesome watches to drool over.

All the main watch-stores are within 10 minutes of each other and located near Passeig De Gracia / Avenue Diagonal.

Rabat on Passeig de Gracia 94 is a watch-lovers dream (AND THEY ARE CERTAINLY NOT GREY)! They also have a store a little further down the street, but without the main brands.

The Rolex store is also located on Passeig De Gracia is great for window shopping. Have seen some stunning references there.

Union Suiza on Ave Diagonal is ok, same with Grau 200 meters further down the same street.

Summa summarum - Rabat is truly the place to go!

*If you want a moonswatch from the swatch store loctaed in El Corte Ingles, then friday morning seems to be the day to go.
** Leave your Rolexes at home and keep you hands in your pockets. High-end watches are nicked openly on the street and in broad daylight. Other than that, then its a truly amazing city.

If you buy one, don’t wear it there.

Yeah it’s unreal. I’d heard about the pickpockets and watch thieves there, and couldn’t believe it when I could see them watching and following people in the area.

The good news is they’re really obvious, but maybe only obvious if you’re from a city and are used to being on guard. If you’re switched off you’ll have problems.

I remember seeing a kid asking someone for the time and pretending he couldn’t understand, so he leaned in to look at the watch while putting his hand around the bracelet to open it (and presumably pull off the watch). Luckily in this case the watch owner realised what’s up and pulled away from the kid.

If you are wearing a Rolex, don’t.
If you want to buy a Rolex, don’t wear it in Barcelona, that is if you don’t mind getting rolled for it. Then it will definitely be a memorable trip.

Wore my GMT II while vacationing w/ family in Barcelona back in 2009. The pick pockets and watch thieves were already a noted topic so I was very aware of my surroundings, as was my family. It's even worse today and would most definitely wear something other than a Rolex.

There is a beautiful Rolex AD/Boutique in Barcelona you could visit. Doubt they'll have much for sale for you, but the folks there were really nice. There are quite a few used watch and estate jewelry dealers in town that I visited. Saw quite a few nice items, both watches and jewelry.

Be careful flashing expensive watches and phones in public for obvious reasons. I wore my Rolex GMT BLNR with no problem on vacation there, but I did so with discretion and common sense.

Barcelona is one of my favorite cities to visit in the world. Have fun!

Barcelona is a fantastic city! For watch shopping, you might want to check out Casa Ponsa. They have a good selection of watches, including the Panda you're interested in.
