Your kid’s Rolex

Anyone else got a watch they are giving to their little one someday?

This is my son’s birth year GMT

Yes, I'm currently buying all the OPs (36").

Daughter will get the pink, red, tiffany, celebration.

Son will get the yellow, black, blue, green.

I'll keep the silver.

I also have a Speedmaster and vintage Constellation which I'll probably sell.

All of mine will go to my kids, but not until I’m gone, in the next 10-20 years, or so. Could be sooner. We never know. I need two more to leave each one an appropriate Rolex.

Yes my daughter has inherited my love of watches. She has already "borrowed" my Seiko 300m pro dive watch and will get my Bluesy and Omega Seamaster before "I shuffle of this mortal coil" to quote Shakespeare.

Everything goes to the kids, so yeah!

I've stopped telling my wife my watch purchases will be for a certain child when they come of age, so many pieces have come and gone, they will have to make do with whatever is left, when I'm gone!

Saying all of that, I have a blue dial GP Laureato, which isn't just a birth year watch for my youngest daughter, but a birth DAY watch, bought from the boutique on the very day she was born (not by me I might add). So this one feels like it needs to stay!

My father gave me his TT Datejust from the 1980’s, about 10 years ago. When my son (now 25) graduated from college, I gave it to him. He loves it.

My son will get my recently purchased GMT “root beer”, but I want to enjoy it for a few years first. He helped me select it and went down the Rolex rabbit hole while researching it. I would not be surprised if he buys one of his own before then.

Oh, I am also giving him a Panerai (44 mm titanium Luminor PAM 00176) when I see him later this month. I was going to sell it, to help fund my recent watch purchase, but my wife convinced me to save it for our son. I agreed to not sell it, but why save it? He can start enjoying it now.

Nice! All of mine will go to my kids but there is one specific watch that will go to each of them.

Mine will go to my 2 kids and then my godson gets to pick one. My will specifically lists the order that they all get to pick from what I have and then my wife gets to do whatever she wishes after they all pick. Hopefully this won’t be anytime soon.

Mine have all slowly caught the watch bug. One of them has already got my 114270. I got him a BB58 as a graduation gift but he asked for the Explorer instead.

Yes, mine will go to my kids with the rest of my stuff.

I’m going to let them choose, but I think Becks will take my BLRO and AvA the 321.

They can arm wrestle over the Submariner or …. I’ll just have to add another watch to even it out

Old picture, but this is my son's birth year DJ41. He has blue eyes, so I thought this would work well. I haven't decided when I'm going to give it to him, but he's still young, so I get to enjoy it for a while.

I wanted to get a birth year Rolex but was actually able to get a birth day Rolex for my son. Just a plane Jane white Roman dj41. I thought that was pretty cool, his birthday on the card.
Of course he’ll inherit all my watches.

I'm right there with you! My Dad gave me a 16013 and I already gave it to my daughter. I have a young grandson now and I hope I'm around when he's ready for a nice watch! Meanwhile, I'll wear them all.

That’s actually the plan with the whole collection.

Each will receive one that currently own at some important life milestone. I’ll just have 3 watches at that point. One I pass I’ll distribute them evenly.

My son will get mine… His favorite colors are blue and red, so he knows that the BLRO will be his… If Tudor ever comes out with a Pelagos 39 in blue,I’ll get that as his first mechanical watch… If we ever happen to win the lottery, I’ll buy him a 116619.

When my son was born I texted my AD from the delivery room and bought my son a Hulk right then with the card in his name and dated the day of his birth. This was back in 2013, he has no clue.

Here is a pic of it before I put in the vault

My son will get my Batman which is his birth year watch probably during college. The rest of my watches he'll have to wait much longer for.
