Hi all.
I've seen a beautiful day date for sale, 36mm would be fine as I've only a slim wrist but the thing is...it has diamond markers!
Beautiful as it is, I'm just thinking is it more of a woman's watch? Without trying it on I just can't imagine what it would look like as I'd prefer non diamond! It's just a really good deal!?!?!
Thoughts please and no comments saying I'm sexist! I'm not 👍

Don’t over think it. If you love, wear it. It works for me (7 3/8” wrist).

I had this exact same concern before I bought a diamond dial DD36, but I’ve found that irl, the diamond dials are not nearly so flashy as one might think from TRF photos. Photos with the dial the size of a salad plate can be necessary to scrutinize details, but they can also give a misleading impression.

It also makes a difference which settings the stones have - The older 8+2 diamond dials with square settings on the round stones look less flashy (and more balanced) to me than dials with the wider, octagonal settings.

Obviously try it on if at all possible, and take a good look when it is not under the jeweler’s lighting (which ofc is designed to maximize every sparkle). Bracelet condition makes a big difference in the value of older DDs.

Finally, even vintage DDs are more or less a commodity item, so be extra leery of any deal which seems too good to be true. Post some clear pics here (or in the Vintage forum, as appropriate) before you splash the cash, and let the experts here (who are amazingly generous with their time and experience) have a look first. There are a whole LOT of repainted/“custom”/not-genuine-Rolex DD dials out there.

That's a stunning ice blue dial!

This one is white gold. Its within my reach. I never thought I'd be in a potential to own a day date!
If I decide to move ahead I will definitely post pics here for the clever guys to check it out.
