Root Beer question….

Hi guy’s genuine question for anyone who owns a GMT Root Beer.
I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a two tone for quite a while a d really love the GMT but would like to hear your opinions on what it’s like to live with long term, do you still love the colour months years later.

This will be a very big purchase for me and will probably require at least a couple of Tudor’s to be sacrificed towards it or maybe the EX11 I’ve never had to sell any of my watches before so this part is giving me a little bit of anxiety

I think the next question is what reference are you considering…

The TT Root beer is spectacular. It’s more versatile that you’d expect, and IMO, one of Rolex’s most interesting references in a long time. And no, it doesn’t get old. I think it’s even more beautiful now than when I got it about 7 months ago. You really need to see one in person to truly appreciate it.

So a strip on the clasp falls off, which although it shouldn't happen it's an extremely rare event? That's like deciding not to buy a car because someone had a wheel fall off - sure it can happen, but it's so rare that it shouldn't be a deciding factor.

I like my CHNR, but I find it doesn't get near the wear time of my plain old sub or BLNR. My wife likes it, but I find it's not near as versatile as my other watches so I just don't wear it a lot. It goes well if you wear a lot of browns, but otherwise I just prefer the other watches YMMV however.

Definitely did not have this happen to mine. I wore it in a 2 watch rotation for like 2 years. Had ton of wear time.

It is a beauty. I love it. But it is more difficult to get lately and the grey price keeps increasing.

I’m quite surprised Rolex didn’t put more thought in the design

An absolute stunner and a chameleon. You will find yourself distracted by the Rolesor uniqueness every time you wear it. The PCL Everose does things under lighting with various kelvins that will have you going from Copper, Gold, Pink, to colorless!
No regrets. Hell, it's a ROLEX !

Love mine. In my regular rotation. I live a casual dress lifestyle and doesn't matter what colors I'm wearing, it seems to fit. One of my faves.

The current TT CHNR is IMO the joint best looking TT Professional model that Rolex make.

The colours don't sound too spectacular and it doesn't photograph well. But up close in 3D it's a watch that I can't stop admiring. I wasn't remotely interested until I saw one in my AD's window (remember those days?!) and having seen it I couldn't stop thinking about it. The RG lends it a depth of lustre and warmth and compliments the colours well and looks good with a black dial.

I can wear mine with anything anywhere. It just seems to go with my skin tone in any situation. Having said that, I can't tell you what you like. I can only tell you what I like.

Owned one for about two years then sold it. Loved it out of the gate, but ultimately it just didn’t suit my lifestyle or tastes. It’s certainly beautiful and unique, but I skew heavily to the casual side of things and the watch just always felt too dressy for me.

I also came to realize that I am not a two-tone person. I just find TT to clash with my style/clothes (at least to my eye). I don’t think the brown hues helped either. I’m pretty heavy into blacks and blues and greys, and as much as I like to mix it up, the CHNR just spent too much time in the safe, and not enough time on the wrist.

So, in closing. Great watch, beautiful watch, just not for me.

So how do you propose to bond/weld a strip of gold to the outer steel part of a tutone clasp? Rolex has been using the current method of bonding a strip of gold onto the all steel clasp for well over 20 years, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of it falling off.
Odds are good of it being trouble-free and most people never even think about it. The center links of the bracelet are solid gold.

I have mine for almost 4 years. Was one of the early ones to get this beautiful watch from the AD. I purchased a BLRO later and eventually sold the BLRO because I hardly wore it. Every time I held the BLRO with the CHNR rootbeer, I was more attracted to the latter. It changes in different light reflections. Sometimes the bracelet looks like copper, other times like an SS bracelet. The brown and black works really well. But it’s really the 3D effect that is the most amazing. The 3D effect of the dial is just superb.

I also have skydwellers. The white and the blue but let me tell you that the rootbeer is the best rolex sports model in my opinion.

I love my CHNR.

I just picked up a TT Blue/Gold Sub this week and it will be tough for me to decide which of these to wear. Both are stunning.

I’ve had mine since march this year. Never left my wrist. After 8 months of wearing it 24/7 I still get the same feeling as I did when I first put it around my wrist.

I’ve seen the Batman, Pepsi, and both the SS Daytonas at the AD. Had the unique opportunity to compare them life. Without any hesitation the CHNR was by far the best looking watch for me.

As far as the Color combo goes, I wear mine in every occasion: suit, casual, weekend jogging pants, I don’t care. Can’t go wrong with this one.

I’ve wear my CHNR on almost every occasion! That includes; hiking, snorkeling, hanging out, pretty much everything. Does it match my shoes, belts, shirts, jeans……who the F cares!?!? It’s an amazing piece!

I can’t comment on the first part since my old root beer dated back to a 1980’s model.

But on the second part, about moving some watches out of your collection, I would do that if you don’t wear them regularly, or have tired of them.

The Watch You Want is the whole point of a quest. Short of winning the lottery, you should make the trades/sales needed to achieve the goal.

Tell me that’s not a gorgeous piece!! I added several photos with varying lighting degrees. As other have said it’s striking in person. Absolutely everyone I’ve shown it to is blown away. I was lucky enough to get it last Father’s Day and wear it half the time with my Deepsea. I don’t think you’ll have any regrets and if you can pick up at MSRP there zero risk. Good luck and lost when. You get it.

Don’t have one but could easily be the first TT watch that sticks on the collection (all previous attempts had resulted in flips)

Two tone rose gold watches won't age well. Was done in one other period and took a long time to come back. Stick with a the classic colors
