Movies: Lucy and Interstellar....
Just saw Lucy by Luc Besson and was blown away by this stunning sic-fi thriller. It is wildly entertaining and unpredictable, which is probably why is is breaking box office records in Europe and Russia, but not so much in America. Too philosophical I guess. One criticism is that it hinges on the myth of people only using 10% of their brains, but I would suggest this may hold true for many posters on the internet, this site excepted
And then I saw the preview for Interstellar, posted below, which looks amazing. can't wait for that one. Bonus points for the first one to identify the watch Matthew McConaughey is wearing in space. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDDiBOT4yk |

Lucy didn't get that good reviews here, so didn't see it. Maybe I should. Sounds a bit too much like limitless.
Yep can't wait for Interstellar |

Looks like it might be cool. Besson can be hit or miss. But when he nails a hit, it's a hit. Loved Angel-A.

I saw Lucy twice. Amazing movie that was fascinating on all levels. Science continues to prove that everything is connected, (SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT)
so when she "went back in time" and it flipped to black and white it just made sense, as if she was watching old footage engrained in the atomic structure of everything, then the flip back to color for the dinos. Man, that movie really flipped me out. It could have done without the bad guys and all and just focused on the essence of everything.

Yeah Lucy was better than I thought it would be based on Rotten Tomato reviews. Still, it had a few ludicrous premises and plot holes. Perhaps watching an English movie in another language helped mask some of the weak elements.

I watched Edge of Tomorrow again today.
Fun movie. I think I finally get the ending 100% without resorting to ridiculous theories that break the former rules set in the movie for how the time travel works.

Can't find time to see Lucy. Now I really have to see it on the big screen. Nolan is probably my fav director right now. Can't wait.
