Dialing fit on skinny wrist...how does clasp reversal change the fit of the band?

Firstly: I have a new green bezel Sub (126610LV) that I've been enjoying very much. However, I am trying to the dial in the right fit on my skinny (~6.75") somewhat angular wrist. The 12 o'clock side of my wrist is a good bit thicker than my 6 o'clock side, and so I've been rocking 5 links on 12 o'clock and 3.5 links on 6 o'clock.

This has improved the fit quite a bit in terms of moving the clasp somewhat closer to the center/bottom of my wrist, yet the watch is still prone to rotating to the outside of my wrist and I have something of an odd space that reveals itself between my wrist and where the links and clasp connect on the 6 o'clock side.

That said...what does the clasp reversal do to improve the fit for a skinny wrist, and would it even make a difference on a 6-digit sub?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

I can't comment on your watch but I can sling in a more general finding for my 6.5" wrist..

I had a Breitling which should have fitted nicely but it was never quite right no matter how I moved the links around. In the end I reversed the clasp. No other resizing or adjustment. It was a perfect fit from then on.

If you have the tools and the inclination there is no harm in trying. As you have probably noticed, Rolex bracelets are easy to work on. Anything you do can be undone fast.

Roger that. Yeah, I may order some tools and give it a try.

They are heavy, they always rotate to the outside of the wrist unless physically restrained.

Reversing the clasp changes the position of the deployant blades that rest against the inner wrist. Since the backside of these blades are slightly longer than the actual clasp, it places more solid support against the inside of the wrist. Some folks prefer the fit of a reversed clasp......... there is no "wrong" way, just a different approach.

I had the same experience as Harry-57, with my 16613 Submariner.

(I have a 6-1/4" flattish/oval arm.)

It just would not fit well until I reversed the entire bracelet. Then it was good.

After checking, I came to the same conclusion as Larry <above.>

Whatever makes it fit for you the 'right way.'

I can't help with your clasp question, but I did buy a Marantz 2270 receiver when I graduated from college, lol. Love the Marantz products from the 1970's-1980's.

with a 6.5 inch wrist i get a centred clasp with 4 links on the 6 side. What we can't really compare is the wrist shape though... mine is oval...?
