I have the same wrist size as you (the shape might be different) and 40-41mm is optimal (in my case) for a Rolex Professional model. Weight, case height/shape and lug design all factor in. I have a 44mm Omega that wears like a 40mm on me. Conversely, I've had a 43mm that looked like a dinner plate and was about as comfortable.

Big watches are okay, but the idea that a watch should dominate the wrist for the benefit of others is hogwash.

I think the watch looks good on your wrist and you shouldn't care what others think.

This is a bigger watch crowd, I think. It all depends on if you want all watch head or prefer to have a balanced look with the strap contour showing. On your wrist the watch looks fine and is big by historical standards where 34mm or less was the norm for all men. One thing nice about this size watch on your wrist, is it is less prominent on the wrist, edge size wise, so it will not catch hard objects and door jams as much as a larger watch would on you.

I think the 40 would look perfect on you. The OF makes it wear slightly smaller than a bracelet.

TBH, it's going to come down to you - if you think a watch is too big (or too small) for you, then it is. If there's any doubt, then there's no doubt.

That said, personally speaking, the second picture looks way too small for your wrist IMO. But as with all the responses here, it's just my personal opinion.

6.3" wrist here. I previously owned the 40mm version and didn't think it was too big but it was not very comfortable on my wrist. The fins on the oysterflex dug into the sides of my wrist. I now have the 37mm and very comfortable. You have large forearms. Looks wise I think the 40mm would fit fine.

It’s a small watch, and I think the bezel makes it look even smaller. I bet it’s crazy comfortable though.

It took 2 milliseconds of looking at the pic to opine it appears too small.

Obviously without a 40 comparison pic it's hard to say, but I wouldn't buy a watch that looked like that on my wrist.

Seems like an unpopular vote, but I’d say it’s ok, depending if you like slightly smaller watches.
I had a friend with the 40mm version and on my 6,5in wrist it looked too big. Not because of the watch, but due to the oysterflex strap which flairs out a little on my opinion. Just didn’t look right.

I wear watches from 34mm to 42mm. Never cared what other people thought.

I like that reference and think it looks good on your wrist.

I think it's too small. My wife had and it was too big for her so I tried it many times with my 6.5ish inch wrist and it just did not work well. I waited and just picked up the 40mm glide lock, amazing! It wears smaller than the GMT and subs of recent reference.
