Watch winder
Can you school me? And what direction to spin and for how long? I see there are cheaper ones and then the sky is the limit. Thanks in advance. It’s for the DeepSea I just picked up.

I've read somewhere around 600-700 rounds per day in the winder (bi-directional)

Welcome to the forum. Can I ask why do you think you need one?

You don’t need one but if you want one buy an Orbita.

Yes 650tpd bidirectional. Only pay what you want to pay - cheap winders do the same job, but check the actual tpd compared to the stated tpd and put on a timer switch if required. On the 650tpd setting on mine it actually does 60tph so I have it on for 10hrs per day.

650 tpd, bidirectional, as already stated. My vote goes to Swiss Kubik.

The best watch winders in the world and most have two they are called wrists and not one of these machine things. If you must use one god knows why, then around 650-750 bidirectional turns should keep it ticking but manually wind first before putting on machine thing. All Rolex automatic movements wind in both directions,so for any non perpetual calendar watch, a watch winder is totally unnecessary. If you have a choice of watches and do not wear it every day, it is not real chore to reset it and wind it by hand must take all of 30 seconds to do.If you don't wear it every day you also reduce wear to the movement components, why waste that benefit by having it wound when it is not required to tell the time on the wrist?

I always thought I wanted a winder but apparently, I never wanted one enough to actually buy one. Since I’m retired, it’s less of a need now. But when I was still driving into the office, I’d always select a watch in the morning based on what was running instead of what I wanted to wear. So that’s why I wanted a winder. I still might get one, but it’s not a priority.

If you want to get a winder get a winder. I have two Wolf winders and love them. Have had them for years to hold my Rolex’s, IWC and Franck Muller. Have never had an issue with the winder or watches. I have mine set to 650 tpd bi directional.

Yea, I have used watch winders for at least 25 years now. Orbita and Wolf are two of many very good brands I have used. Now I have a custom multi head winder that all my watches are in. The nice thing is I don’t have all of them on but the winder in general is a beautiful and safe way to store and display your watch collection if you have them running or not. Think of a watch winder like a nice custom garage for an exotic car collection.

I've got a few wolf ones (came free with purchases)
All my watches are easy to set so they just get stored in rolls and my safe for insurance cover |

Even on one of these machine things you have to set the date a few times a year, and winding and setting the date with any Rolex watch made in the last 30 odd years takes around 30 seconds.Been wearing Rolex watches for over 50 years never needed a winder or any of today's Rolex toys and have quite a few watches mostly automatics..

I got one for x mass! Love it. It’s great when you want to wear a watch *tomorrow but still have non-Rolex activities to do today. I wear my g shocks mostly so the winder is great for my lifestyle. My wife got it on Amazon I don’t think it was terribly expensive. Looks super cool too
