Custom Daytona

I had a master watchmaker create my ideal Daytona fantasy.

It features a genuine 4130 movement, vintage crown & pushers, hands, and crystal, with custom one-of-a-kind dial with depleted tritium lume markers and hands, with a glass display case back. The case was modified to be slab-sided, with the crown guards removed. Bracelet is all brushed- got rid of the polished center links.

The goal was to have a thoroughly modern functional Daytona with a vintage 6263 look. I have better photos but am having issues getting them to meet the required specs for upload.

What do you all think?

Why no lug holes???? Seems like a good way to spend a lot of money

Look forward to more photos but like what I see very much. I like custom non-vintage watches but I would prefer this modification if the dial did not say Rolex. Personal choice.

Very similar creation to those produced by Artisans de Geneve. Very tasteful job and I love it OP. How did you source the dial? Or was it fabricated just for you? I would be very interested in such a hybrid. Drop me a pm if it can be recreated.

Here you go.
The display case adds 1mm thickness. I can swap for the regular stainless if I like, but I enjoy seeing the 4130 movement:)

the bezel proportions look slightly off to me. Almost too wide for my eye? Also the space in the case left by lack of pusher guards irks me...

But those are nit-picky observations and I think the as a whole that watch is clean and very cool! I really enjoy the vintage vibe! Enjoy it!

Yes it’s a 116520 case that’s been modified: some metal added, some removed. Slab sides, beveling on lugs added and polished, crown guards removed, etc.
