Rolex Explorer 40mm at an AD

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to find a AD that has the Rolex Explorer 40mm. Even then it’s almost impossible to buy one I know. I am also looking at the second hand market which would mean paying around 1K more than the new retail price.

If you have any pointers to an AD that may have one and would entertain a purchase /(somehow) please let me know.

Thanks!

Andrew

Depending on where you live a $1000 markup isn’t much more once tax is included

I assume you've tried the ADs in your area without much luck? The Explorer 40 should be available with a very short wait time or even on a walk in. Good luck.

Any model that can’t be quickly flipped for a profit should be available in a short time from your local AD - don’t play the “relationship” game.

Hi Andrew
As mentioned have you asked your AD what are the chances of securing one?
If you don’t want to wait just go grey. Lots of recommendations for the better ones can probably be found by doing a search.
Good luck with the search

Rolex Explorer 40mm at an AD

You’re in and near major metro areas with ADs. Just walk-in to as many ADs as you can and get on the list and follow-up in person once a month or so. Not too often though and only in person. Don’t annoy people with texts asking if your watch has arrived.

I bet you get the call in well under a year. I’d put the over under at six months.

I personally enjoy visiting watch shops, but if my recipe sounds like work, just go grey. The markup is tolerable.

IDK about that mark up man.

I just picked up a 36mm 124270 for about $100 more than what one with tax would of been from an AD.

Shop around & don't be afraid to make a (reasonable) offer to a grey market seller.

Have you put your name on a list at any AD’s. Here in the UK I put my name down and waited the grand total of 21 days from expressing an interest to the call for my Explorer 40, and that was earlier this month.
