I bought my LV grey, the seller made a big deal about having the white tag. I couldn't care less. The box and everything (except a bezel protector) is stuck in a cupboard.

I do wish I had the plastic coffin, as it would be useful when traveling.

Well it's been reported on the net if you do not have all the plastic stickers, plus bezel protector, white tag etc. And if you do not register these items with all authorities including Rolex the watch is programmed to self destruck when put on wrist.

I never knew this was a thing until someone else posted about this a few months ago. I don’t think I got a white tag with any of my mine and I’m not losing any sleep over it.

The reality is twofold:

1. Some buyers put a value on it and will ask you for it if you ever sell and may adjust their price downward if you don’t have it. Becomes more important when the watch involves different color dials

2. It’s just a little piece of white plastic with numbers on it

I think more ADs are holding them back. I would prefer to have it so it’s a “complete” set

Nope. It’s only a complete set if you have the bubble wrap that came from the pallets that the shipping cartons came in on. Sorry

Waiting for the “not a complete set” crew to show up. Those guys are fun.

Well, I do have a collection of about 30 plastic shipping coffins that may be worth a quarter of a Millie or thereabouts

I got all mine, but let it go! It’s not important enough to be bummed out about it. Some ADs include them, and some do not. Enjoy your brand new Rolex!

At least! Probably worth more than that in melt value alone.

This is the right answer! I’m obviously poking some fun at what has become a ridiculous “complete set” trend over the past decade or so. You bought a watch…enjoy it. The amount of stress people have with this nonsense has to take away from the enjoyment of the hobby.
Wear the watch and enjoy it.

Any Rolex I bought after 2019 (only 2), the white tags were not offered. When I got offered a black Daytona 126500LN in February, I asked if they include the white tag and coffin, and the SA said no.

They did allow me to peel the protective stickers myself but would not allow a single one to remain. As my SA watched, she kept saying “you missed one” :-)

Next, detailed photos were taken of watch, dated warranty card, receipt, and pile of peeled stickers, all laid out on a formatted template.

Finally, she gave me the large PM size display box w/ outer box and white sleeve and a nice Rolex shopping bag to carry it in. But instead I threw everything into an In-N-Out Burger shopping bag I had brought with me. Who’s gonna mug you for a burger joint T-shirt?
I had the same exact experience with the purchase of a Sub-date a couple of years ago. I was able to negotiate the clear bezel protector for watch storage. I don't think my SA really cared one way or the other but you could sense there was pressure from AD management. I did like being to at least peel the plastics off myself. Cheers.

I typically ask for the white tag and bezel protector, and my SA has been kind enough to oblige. That being said, I wouldn't be terribly upset if an AD declined

I purchased two watches last year. Green OP41 and they kept the white tag. SA told me that it was Rolex policy and they would get in trouble if Rolex found out (August). The white tag for the OP does indicate dial color, card does not.
Purchased a Pepsi from a different AD, was able to keep the white tag (October).
