Sad headline this morning. The world needs more cowboys, not less. He was my favorite singer for over 20 years. So many songs that made me smile. Suddenly the words in "Don't let the old man in" make sense. Added that to my sad song playlist. Though his gift was staying light in a heavy world. God bless him.

Prayers to his family, wife and children.

I'm not a big country music fan, but it seems that he loved his country and volunteered with the USO quite a bit.

Rest In Peace Toby.

I’ve gone though phases with country music. Love it then hate it then love it again. But regardless of where I was on that cycle I always enjoyed his music. I also was extremely grateful for his support of the troops. Great Entertainer and a Great Patriot. Rest in Peace.

You said this so well. His songs were enjoyable to listen to, and he was an obvious talent. I enjoyed “As Good as I Once Was” and “How Do You Like Me Now” in addition to his hits. I gasped when I read the news this morning. It was particularly sad to hear that he suffered with his cancer for a while.

You took the words right out of my mouth. My wife told me the terrible news and I was in shock. I was just jamming to these very 2 songs on the way back from work the other night. 2 of my absolute favorite country songs that I remember growing up. It’s amazing how music can bring you back to a certain place and a certain time. His music takes me back to a time in my life when everything was great and everyone I loved was still alive. I never met the man, but his music will be a part of me forever. May he rest in peace.

Rip Toby Keith

I'm not much of a country music fan, but he was great. When his good friend and bandmate & basketball great, Wayman Tisdale died early from cancer, he came with 'Cryin' For Me'...which gets me every time.

I listened to it a few more times yesterday, then needed 'Red Solo Cup' to cheer me up...got me LMAO!!

Thanks Toby...you will be missed.
