How did you get your white dial 116500?

Now that 116500 is discontinued, wondering how many of those still holding on to their white dial 116500 managed to get it through AD vs how many went grey.

AD - waited 12 months for a 116520 then about 3 years for the 116500. Wasn't sure they would come through on the second one but they did get me a couple of sports Pateks while I was waiting so I kept the faith and they came through in the end.

Randy- the only TRF’er to ever successfully “bundle” a panda and an SS Pepsi in the same transaction LOL. Really did the AD a favor there

For me I’d answer this acquisition question but the statute of limitations hasn’t run out yet

AD: 3 year wait, long relationship, had purchased Breitling, Tudor, IWC, and some other stuff. It was a brutal wait, was offered black dial a few times.

I purchased my SS Black and White Dial Daytona-C's from DavidSW back before everything went super high on the pricing. When the watches were introduced in 2016 my AD told me I was second on the list for the white dial, which I had requested. I told them to take my name off the list as I am the type of person who will buy/sell/trade a watch in a heartbeat and I did not want to estrange myself from them when I moved the watch. They complied and no issues. I stay away from anything from my AD that could cause me problems. I also just know myself and my preferences. I also sold the Daytona-C's, as usual, once I was over them.

Went grey, just today! Was comparing between the 126500 and 116500 Panda and although I prefer newer watches, the older series was better looking

Just sharing some pics for comparison, you will realise the 116 has bolder contrasts and more outstanding. Cheers

It was my good fortune to have received mine from the authorized dealer. After I made my request for the watch, I received it approximately seven months later.

I haven’t … year 3.5 in waiting.

I was however, offered / and bought the Black Dial 116500, 3 months after buying a diamond ring for my girlfriend.

I guess I need to go buy those diamond earrings, and the diamond bracelet, if I want the White !!

Clarification the reason I got two of each is because two belong to my wife. Actually the 1st ceramic Daytona I got is white when we went to pick it up she liked it and I told my SA to size it for her. Now if I got offered a 12series which I’m certain I will I will buy them for my son. Happy Saturday TRF

Not many will admit it, but i guarantee most people bought their SS Daytona grey market. The majority who voted AD are liars

Or maybe not... why do you need to accuse someone without evidence? I got from AD and I feel bad about your comment. Sorry for being direct.

While there may be some truth in your statement, at the same time the people on TRF are often enthusiasts that have spent many years in this hobby and have accumulated a reasonable spend history with their AD to get the Daytona. You are asking a subset of people who are interest in a subject high enough to join a forum and participate in discussions. If people on TRF are not getting the calls for Daytona, then I really don’t know who else is getting the call for one, considering most people don’t even know what a Rolex is beyond the Datejust and the DayDate.

Yes there may be some liars, but a very small percentage if any. Still the ratio doesn't mean that people are getting their steel Daytonas especially the Panda based on purchase history only. I would claim that the higher percentage goes to family, close friends, people the AD owes favors, mutual benefit ( doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc ), influencers and stars, people AD can't say no to in some countries, etc, insert what you like from tens of reasons. Also in some countries ADs sell at a bit lower than market value and not at retail so getting it from AD doesn't mean retail.
