What should the wait be like on a 5990, for the PP newbie?

I havent had much luck even getting on a ‘list’, as of yet

I just want to say thanks for this poll (long time lurker but made an account to post), i am actually at this price point looking for a watch so its perfect.

With that said i did have one question. Why is there no mention of the 5524r/g? is it just an unpopular model?

Thanks for all the knowledge guys, love reading all the post

Great question about the 5524R/G. I did exclude this model from the poll not b/c it isnt a desirable or unworthy watch. With only 10 slots available to use I wanted to have a few Nautilus models but also a Patek complication (5170) and GC (3940/5140). It just so happens that these two models also have style diversity with more formal wearability. Any more than 6 slots wouldnt afford other worthy brands an opportunity. I feel similar to the ALS Zeitwerk-amazing piece but like the 5524 I doubt many would chose it over the Dato as their first Lange.

5170G. Dream on regarding a clean 4 digit Daytona. Those cost at least 25k+ more.

I’m sticking with the Dato. BTW why don’t I have one yet? My sights are on it now.

Agreed......and the Daytona vote shouldn't be on here as it's far from realistic with today's market.

Im not too familiar with the 4 digit daytona market but as I understand, it can be a mindfield. I do see 5 chrono24 pieces on sale between 50-60k tho. Would you feel these are likely not in honest condition with excessive replacement parts?

Without looking at those examples, I can tell you it's either:

1) Bad condition, incorrect parts.....
2) Fake/Scam.

Only way you'll be buying a good honest example at that price now would be if someone didn't know what they had or a personal hookup from an existing owner that's doing you a favor.

I voted 3940, mainly because I am a classicist and feel like older designs are more appealing in Patek. There is no way to know, but I feel they are relatively undervalued in the market right now. None of them are bad choices (yet I own none of them, though I have older pateks). However, I am looking at the Datograph or 5170g.

For me it was I liked the Romans but not the size, then liked the new size but not sans Romans. This is one I wanted perfect as resale is not good.
