Rolex AD @ Bangkok, Phuket, Dubai

Hey all,

Will go to vacation with my family at October

The places I’ll have time to visit an AD would be: Phuket, Bangkok, Bangkok airport and at Dubai airport.

My wishlist:

ss 36/41 OP/datejust blue/mint green -for me41/wife 36
ss 42 sky dweller blue dial on jubilee
ss 41 sub date black/green bezel
ss pepsi on jubilee
ss Daytona panda

As I understand that most of the locations I’ll step in are tourist oriented places, I think my strategy would be: I’m a tourist, I come to Thailand/Dubai at least twice a year and I want to build multi brand watch collection over the year.

I have quite a lot of watches already and a purchase history of at my country of residence.

If they could help and help by allocating my my dream watches.

It would be explained that a combo purchase is possible and immediate.

What do you think?

Thanks

Fantastic enthusiasm but almost ZERO chances of this happening.

We already have the NO
must try to make it a YES, with anything in life :)

Even a nice OP with blue/green dial would be a success for me.

I honestly try to remain optimistic as the watch market situation is much better for the buyers now than 6 month ago, hopefully it'll be even better by October.

Sorry but zero chance. There are many people that would and could bundle for any of those combos and still zero.

Nothing wrong with trying, holidays are already planned anyways and trips must be made by the OP. Good luck.

Airports are your best chance, you might get lucky. But they won't be interested in any relationship overtures, nor will any other dealers if you're not local.

I am curious to know how many white dial SS Daytona's and BLROs are sold at random in airport ADs to walk-ins. Anybody land one like this?

They once asked me to register interest in a European airport because it was a big chain jeweler

Blue DJ36/41 - Is possible
Mint Green DJ - Doubt it very much

As for:
ss 42 sky dweller blue dial on jubilee
ss 41 sub date black/green bezel
ss pepsi on jubilee
ss Daytona panda

Not a chance I'm afraid. (Sorry, but I regularly travel through these ports)

Thank you for sharing from experience at these places.
I will go with no expectation obviously.

BTW, How risky is it to travel in Thailand with a Rolex?

I wanna go with my polar.

It depends on where you go and when you go there. Sukhumvit during the day - completely safe. If you’re in a bar in Patpong, drunk, and it’s very late … not as safe. If you bring a new friend back to your hotel, not safe at all.

I’m headed to Thailand later in the year. I’ll bring my white dialed 116500, which is also where I bought it.

Absolutely zero change in Thailand.

Again, zero chance. Just being honest.

Dubai I live in, and use quite often the airport there, zero chance of what you have on your list. Regarding Thailand I was there a couple of months ago, they won’t sell you a watch unless you live there and of course wait on the list. Sorry to burst you bubble but those are my experiences. Better going grey in MBK mall although even their the grey prices seem higher than other countries grey markets.

Build a multi brand watch collection you say? I think your only hopes of getting a Rolex as a new buyer / tourist is to do a bundle deal with some of those other brands you want, otherwise forget about visiting Rolex ADs and just enjoy the sites.
