No, the word 'rolesor' is a Rolex-invented word to denote a mix of stainless steel and gold, i.e. a two-tone watch.

Similarly, they have invented 'rolesium' to denote the mix of stainless steel and platinum, per the Yachtmaster.

No Rolesor is a fancy and patented word Rolex dreamt up because places like the UK you cannot state anything as being
gold when its made of mixed metals.Rolesor = gold and S.steel,
Rolesium Platinum and S.steel.

Hey Padi,

In the UK, don't they refer to gold as "yellow metal" in the TT watches, but "solid gold" in the full gold models?

If its solid gold it will bear a proper assay hallmark,yes the words yellow
metal are used to describe something that does not have a official assay
hallmark.But in the Rolex brochure the TT is described as Rolesor Gold SS
Rolesium Platinum and S.steel.There are now only four independent Assay Offices in the U.K.each with there own marks .

That is correct to be called gold it must have a official hallmark
At one time Denisons made most of the cases, for most makes
of solid gold watches in the UK.

Assay Marks
London.

Birmingham.

Edinburgh.

Sheffield.

Example of English Gold Hallmark.

Imperial Crown = UK
Anchor assayed. Birmingham
The C Date letter, sometimes there will be a makers mark
as well
18 for 18kt gold.
