Did you get the white hang tag when you bought from your AD?

So a few weeks ago I bought the Sub LV and received everything, except the white hang tag. I saw the owner of the store who did the transaction with me, tape the white tag to their paperwork. I asked about it and he told me he keeps all white hang tags. No idea what is done with them. At the time I was OK, but now feeling a little more bummed about it. Don’t really think I can go back to him and ask for it, but on the other hand I bought everything.

I read some ADs keep them and some allow customers to take them so it sounds like it’s circumstantial

Probably just an AD thing….if it’s that big a deal you could probably demand it in your purchase offer but I’m not seeing a big deal here…just IMHO. I get the whole “box and papers” thing, but hang tags?

My AD’s do exactly the same and attach them to some paperwork. I saw it many times I visited them

My ADs kept it and they refused to give it to me, on two occasions. One said they could be in trouble if Rolex were to find out, if for example the watch ends up being sold with the white tag on the preowned market. Not sure if they made that up, but they were pretty adamant.

Sometimes the AD throws it in, sometimes they don't. They don't need to. Of our 10 Rolex watches, six had the white tag in the box, four did not.

I have 2 AD’s that I use and one lets me keep the white tag and 1 doesn’t.

I have it but wouldn't have cared if they kept it. Silly thing to stress over.

We have had numerous posts about dial originality coming into question. The white tag does specify the the dial color. Some want it and some don’t. I have not seen a dealer hold these back.

I checked to see if I got one with my 126715CHNR,but If I did one I must have pitched it in the bin when I tossed the box away. I will never know if mine came with one.

Sorry, but this kind of stuff should stop. It’s a tag. You bought a watch. It’s a tag.

I have received all white tags for mine. I would be disappointed if they were held back.

Yes, I received white hang tag & Rolex Seal hang tag for Sub LV purchased from AD in 2022. But they said no on the bezel protector when I asked for it.

They did allow me to peel the protective stickers myself but would not allow a single one to remain. As my SA watched, she kept saying “you missed one” :-)

Next, detailed photos were taken of watch, dated warranty card, receipt, and pile of peeled stickers, all laid out on a formatted template.

Finally, she gave me the large PM size display box w/ outer box and white sleeve and a nice Rolex shopping bag to carry it in. But instead I threw everything into an In-N-Out Burger shopping bag I had brought with me. Who’s gonna mug you for a burger joint T-shirt?

I usually get them but I didn't get it on my last watch, but I am pretty sure my AD just forgot to throw it back in the box. If it's not a special dial, it really shouldn't matter. E.g., If you wanted to prove you had a Tiffany blue OP, it would be important, but for like a GMT Pepsi or Black sub, it shouldn't matter.

I have gotten them, but i ask for it. The white sticker with the price on it is usually held back. I get the impression they would keep if i didn’t ask.

All five watches from my current dealer had them in the box, bezel protectors on my OPs and GMTs. Asked for and got the plastic coffins on the first three that I picked up in person.

It's not a full set if you don't have it..

Some give it, some don't, its not a dictated move by the mothership.
It's more of a dealer's thing, its system and his "method" to file things.

and to the headline:
A full set is the boxset, all links, card, watch, plastic seal.
All the rest like bezel protector, salvaged stickers, shopping bag, are only nice extra items to flavor the story.
