Tudor Heritage - m70330 blue or black?

All, I'm considering the blue or black version of this watch. I've not seen one in person but I like the blue in pictures. Joma has the black one at a good price.

Does anyone have experience with either? I was going through Heathrow yesterday and hoped that I could find one but there were none avaiilable.

Someone pointed out on here years ago that the blue while it has a striking color has a much cheaper dial in terms of construction and details.

My favourite is the blue hands down. But I’m a sucker for gulf color scheme on a chronograph.

I wrote the following post a few years ago, but still feel the same so I'll just repost it. Link at the end still works....

----------------------

I prefer the Grey, which was the first watch released in the Tudor Heritage line (2010) for a few reasons.

1. The Grey’s sub dials are recessed, and give more depth to the dial (more apparent in real life than in the pic below).

2. The tip of the Grey's minute hand touches on the minute markers, whereas on the Blue there is some space, making it more fiddly to set precisely (something important with this movement, as there is some lag on the take-up of the minute hand).

3. The Grey's home-plate markers and hands hold more lume.

4. The Grey’s sub dials are more balanced, with three sets of numbers on each side, and less busy than the more colourful blue ones.

5. I also think the black/grey/white/orange colour scheme is more versatile.

Also, (and this is just a minor thing that probably no one else would care about), the reference number of both – 70330 – is a continuation of 7033/0, which was a Grey model produced but never put on the market in the 1970s. The THC Blue is based on the 7169, not the 7033.

There’s a good comparison of both (to each other and to the originals) here: http://timetapestry.blogspot.hk/2014...intage-vs.html

Blue for me.

I've had this since 2015. It doesn't get much wrist time, but when it is worn, it puts a smile on my face.

Not suitable (IMO) as an only watch as it's pretty slabby, but it's nice to have as part of a larger collection.

Blue with the OEM NATO!! I love the 12 hour bezel, it's such an underrated and useful feature.

Boy oh boy do I wish I would have picked one up at retail before it was disco'd.
