3 vs 16 !!

25 years of Rolex fever, 25 years of Rolex mania....and 25 years to say how proud I am of owning several Rollies over that long period of time.

Starting in 1980 when Zemina and I got ourselves our very first Rollies - a pair of matching TT DJs....and what happens a quarter of a century later?

Zemina is enjoying her THIRD one....her current TT YM....and JJ? Rolex No.16 by way of the new black Exp-II!!

Go figure...

its a male thing!!!!

there JUST ARE !!! certain things in life that only the male of the species can comprehend and really appreciate and enthuse about, we have are own club with no sexual equality where "male bonding" can go unridiculed by the fairer sex, when all around seems lost a night out with the "lads" a few beers /conversation with that"special male HETROSEXUAL!!! bonding" makes the world seem right!

Hey JJ,

I would say that you are fortunate 16 times over to be able to have such a possesion of Rollies pass over your wrist.

I want the complete list and time span for each Rolex watch.

16? That is a new Rolex every 1.56 years. (Although I know at times your collection has doubled up.)

But still that is a lot of trading up.

Wow only 16...that's an average of about 1.5 years per watch. True you've have 2 or more at some times so that's not quite accurate. Given the rate you've flipped them this year, you must have held onto your earlier Rollies longer. I'm with Aaron...full list with dates.

You're very fortunate to have had such a wide variety of watches.

Okay, fellas, full list with approximate month and definite year.

1. TT DJ (acrylic crystal) Oct. 80
2. Oyster Date Jan. 81 (later realised it was too small)
3. GMT (Pepsi) Sep. 87
4. GMT-II (red/black) Mar. 90
5. SS Sub/date 1991
6. SS Sub/date 1994
7. TT Black Sub Jun 94 (in Hong Kong)
8. DJ (16234) Dec 94.
9. SS Sub/date Oct. 97
10. GMT-II (all black) April 03
11. DJ (SS) on Jubilee Jan. 04
12. TT Blue Sub April 04
13. Exp-II (white) Nov. 04
14. Sea-Dweller Apr. 05
15. TT Blue YM Jun. 05
16. Exp-II (black) Sep. 05

This, of course, aside from the several Omegas, Tags, one Raymond Weil, quite a few Longines....but, finally, aaaaah Rolex!!!

Cheers - JJ

JJ, can you please edit your post to show the date upon which each Rolex was sold? I'd be interested (as would many here I'm sure) how long each one was in your possession and which one you had the longest (and why).

Hey Johnny,

I can definitely tell you which one I had the longest....it was the very first TT DJ which I'd purchased along with one for Zemina in Oct.1980 from an AD in Teheran (Iran). I kept that one for TEN solid years before selling it and getting my first GMT-II.

Zemina kept hers for 11 years before getting her next TT DJ which she, in turn, held on to for 13 years before trading up to the present TT YM.
