Where do i get a rolex authenticated in NYC area?

I am looking to have 2 Rolex authenticated. A Milgrauss and Sea Dweller. Where do i go in the nyc area? Is there a coast? Do they do it on the spot or do i have to leave my watch and come back? Any help would be appreciated. God bless

Be a bit more specific, the NYC area covers a lot of territory, lots of AD’s and watch specialists. And don’t expect any competent, qualified professional watch specialist to authenticate two Rolex’s for free.

Almost no AD will give you more than a verbal.

The RSC used to authenticate for 150 bucks. You have to leave it so they can take it apart

Larry is right about ADs.

In NYC, I’d go to the Rolex Service Center

Submit the watches for a service estimate.

If there are any red flags about being a fake via outward appearances, your request will be declined.

If either watch has been reported as stolen to Rolex anywhere in the World, it will be seized.

But until they open it up for a full report you won’t know anything. Then, if anything is wrong, you’ll get a quote to fix it. For example, an aftermarket crystal or bad gaskets. An aftermarket movement will be rejected and you will get the bill for the estimate.

If the watch is authentic, you can decline the service quote and they will charge you for the estimate. In this circuitous way you will learn its authenticity, its legitimacy, and its condition. (PS: that includes the bracelet which may have its own issues)

But if you care about the watch, then let them fix anything that is wrong.

RSC is where I’ve gone (in Toronto). I’m assuming NYC offers this same service.

It was $150 the last time I had a watch authenticated

If you have already bought them a bit late to get them authenticated but any watchmaker with the correct case back tool could check movement.

Go to 47th and ask a store what they'd buy it for

Anyone go to the RSC in NY recently? I've read in the past you could just walk in to get the authentication/service estimate, not sure if it's still the case.

Take them to an AD and get them appraised. Prob $100 per watch and you will have for your insurance too.

Make an appointment and they do right there

Were they a gift?

Why do they need to be authenticated? Possibly for insurance purposes.

I personally would go to a AD in NYC. It’s possible a salesman might be able to tell if they’re real or fake.

I’m not sure what the process is getting a watch authenticated.

The RSC and AD's no longer offer authentication service.

The RSC does not authenticate or do insurance estimates any more.
