I don't intend to sell or trade any of my watches. I love them all equally and they each have a back story.

Any time I have sold a watch in the past I have regretted it. Last time I did was 15 years ago (Breitling Old Navitimer II) to help finance the purchase of my first Rolex. I have resolved to not sell again, at least not to finance the purchase of something new. I still wish I had that Navitimer... ah well.

Yeh I could never sell any of my watches.

However, they are all slated to go to specific homes when I am no longer here.

I wouldn't part with my BLNR that i purchased for my 40th and to celebrate a few of professional achievements. Also wouldn't sell my Seiko that my dad gifted me.

Rolex Air-King that my Father gave me, a watch he received for 30-years of active service at his employer and also the watch I wore the day my daughter was born. I'll NEVER sell it.

I would never sell the three I currently own and have owned for many years:

1. Explorer II 16570 - My first ever Rolex, graduation gift from my grandparents of which my grandfather is no longer alive.

2. GMT Master I 1675 - Purchased by my dad in 1983, who passed away in 2004. I now wear it and remember him every time.

3. Datejust 16233 - I purchased it preowned in 2015. My first Rolex that I had purchased entirely on my own.

As you can see, all three are highly sentimental, I don't know how I could be without any of them for as long as I live.

Probably the Submariner 114060 that I won here.

It’s a lovely watch, and reminds me of this really great forum every time I wear it

The guy in the middle was my first and has been through most everything since then.

These three are the core and would be the last to go.

2005 Omega SMP quartz with blue dial: graduation gift from my parents when I got my PhD

2016 Polar Explorer: Combo 40th b-day gift and wedding watch from my now wife.

I could probably get away with owning just those two and the GO panoreserve I just purchased.

I never plan to sell but if i had to due to crazy dire circumstances the one watch I'd keep is the DJ36 I have. My Daytona, YM, Speedy, GS and Nomoses will go before this watch as it's the one I got when I turned 35 and my son turned 1.

The one in my avatar pic - two tone Datejust with blue sunburst dial. Engraving on the back says it all - “Happy 21st. Love, Dad”

It's a tough one... the sentimental value is real with a few of my watches. And you can always make more money - but not get a watch back. That said, I like to have only a couple of watches (or perhaps a few) at any one time. And that means if I want a different watch, I feel the need to move some on to make room. I don't like simply looking at watches, to appreciate them, I feel the need to wear them.

My father’s DJ. He got it for his 25th anniversary gift from IBM. He gave it to me when he couldn’t read the dial anymore.

I would never sell my Kermit, as I wore it through a majority of my LE career or the Hulk my parents gave me when I got my Master's.

Strangely, I would never part with the only quartz in my collection; Grand Seiko sbgx259. Zero sentimentality, it’s just a near perfect watch.

Also, it wouldn’t let be much fun to give up my 114060.

A watch you would never sell

My 16800 sub my father gave me when I graduated H.S. It was in real bad shape from all the years of abuse my father Put it though. He worked in many war torn third-world countries in his career. I spent a small fortune getting it overhauled.

I have at least 2 watches I would never sell. My first (and currently only) Rolex which is a SubC new last year, and my citizen Eco Drive that was a "wedding" gift with the diamond bezel... which I can unfortunately not wear because the jeweler kept the extra links and it no longer fits.
