Datejust as a daily
How many here wear a Datejust as their daily? For those that have a fluted bezel, do you ever feel that it draws too much attention?

I prefer sport models for my daily. Many others enjoy DJ as their daily, just a matter of preference.

My father used to wear his TT fluted jubilee as a daily, and it never looked out of place. He doesn't wear it as much nowadays, but seeing it every day growing up, it will always be the quintessential Rolex in my eyes. I think the whole idea behind the Datejust is that it is the perfect every day, every occasion watch.

I have a fluted blue DJ2, plus sports models. I could see the DJ2 as a daily wearer. I just rotate so much, nothing is daily.

I wear one almost every work day. The fluted bezel to me makes the watch in my opinion.

I admit I wear my SubC daily but I think you could wear a DJ daily especially if you dress well for work
My DJ 41 is SS smooth bezel it would work for most daily wear |

A Datejust can definitely be a daily watch, however I mainly wear a Sub and neglect the rest.

My father wears his K serial 36mm SS DJ (oyster, smooth bezel) as his daily. Never been serviced and still ticking just fine. Not a fluted bezel but very low key in my opinion vs my professional models including my 39mm Explorer.

I wear mine as a daily. And I dress super casual. V neck tee shirt. Athletic shorts and flip flops. I think with the oyster bracelet and in SS even with the fluted bezel and diamond dial it flies under the radar. If I worked outside in the sun or if I worked in a place with extreme lighting like a jewelry store it might be a different answer. But in those cases I feel like I would dress differently as well. I feel like it’s no more flashy now then a BLNR with the PCLs. I had a DJ 41 jubilee fluted bezel and that bracelet was more blingy imo. The bezel on the 41 is so small it doesn’t bling that much. I see subs all the time. Boring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wear it in rotation with my Patek Monday-Friday and all weeeknd. No problems. DJ has been and will always be bulls eye at the intersection of timeless design/price/quality/ruggedness/versatility. Remains perhaps the perfect watch of our time imo. I do want to add a sub soon though. I sold my first sub decade ago.

I don’t have a daily, per se; I wear my watches in stretches, rotating among 3 or 4 and my fluted DJ is part of that rotation. I switch out the jubilee for an Oyster bracelet that comes standard on the OP36...all brushed and it tones down the overall look. I can wear my DJ anywhere.

I think a DJ with a smooth bezel can be worn on a daily basis

I wear my DJ41 (Rhodium) smooth bezel every single day to work. I am typically in smart business casual, or a suit at work. I also wear it with casual without any concern whatsoever. It’s a perfect watch for everyday do anything in any situation dressing up or down with ease. I love it!

I wear my 16233 as a daily and have no problem with it at all. No one notices one way or the other and I enjoy its appearance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I have a 16013 TT datejust with fluted bezel that I purchased 30 years ago and wore it daily until a year ago when I purchased a GMT. I have been wearing my GMT almost exclusively since but lately I have been thinking of wearing them in rotation. The datejust, at 36mm on a Jubilee bracelet, is extremely comfortable and I appreciate the vintage look. It has been very reliable over the years and I have it serviced every few years at a Rolex service center. I never felt it was too flashy and did not receive many comments from strangers. It is a classic.

Wife wears a DJ36 blinged as her daily and it's fine. Around here it is the norm so not much 'added attention' from others about it.

I don’t wear mine daily but when I do wear it I have no issues with “too much attention”. When I’m considering a new watch and I’m worried about how much attention it might bring I ask myself one simple question: Is this a Rainbow Daytona? No? Okay good to go

My late father wore his 16203 silver and golf Oyster Perpetual Datejust (avatar picture) as a daily, when I inherited it I wore it as a daily for about 2 months but did find it did attract alot of attention (I blame the Gold). I have retired it for now as its well overdue a service and one of the pins needs replacing.
wearing Seamaster 300m 41mm as daily at moment. |
