I don’t like Apple/smartwatches. For me, it’s a gadget. I already have a smartphone. No need to have one on my wrist. I can’t understand why someone would talk to their watch... I actually don’t wear my SS Submariner Date, or my SS DateJust as often. My daily rotation consists of a Sarb033, Seiko Turtle SRP773, Timex Expedition, and my favorite, is a Casio DW5600 BB. If I had to choose between a Rolex, or a Apple Watch, Rolex it is.

Agree but for me personally keeping a track of my fitness, heart rate etc is important to me. I can see wha you mean though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think we can only add perspective and you are the only one who can decide.
I love my watches, so I find it a blessing I can choose what I wear day to day. I tried the Apple Watch but I just couldn't find any love for it. I wasn't really that into the fitness side of it. I run when I run and cycle when I cycle and I listen to my body and push when I can and slow down when I feel I need to. I'm not up for game-ifying it, but that's not to say others aren't. I think a bit of the shine came off the novelty of fitness tracking when it turns out lots of these devices are quite inaccurate. I personally found the heart beat sensor pretty far out when I was hill running in the colder months. My skin would be very cold and constrict and would make for wildly inaccurate BPM's. Anyway, the Apple Watch was given to my wife, she finds it quite practical when teaching yoga, plus its not the best idea to turn up in a TT Wimbledon dial datejust. Which she adores, but teaching yoga in it wouldn't work, nor would leaving it in a locker or the car. So for practical reasons she wears the Apple Watch most of the week, despite adoring the DJ. |

I first gave my wife an apple watch and then bought her a new SS Daytona. Don't think she ever wore the Apple watch since. She started wearing the Daytona until she saw my new Brellum. She took that and gave me the Daytona. I haven't seen her wearing the apple watch since the Daytona.
Personally, I don't wear any smart watch because I can't stand notifications (and the interruptions) and the fact a mechanical watch is much more discreet when I'm in a meeting and need to check time. I noticed I significantly cut down checking my phone after wearing a mechanical watch. |

Oh I wasn't joking about wearing one each arm. I've seen people doing a watch and Fitbit so it makes sense.

I wear a mechanical on my left wrist and fitbit on my right. I wish Apple would make a Fitbit Inspire type device for fitness tracking, without the bulk of the Watch.

I personally enjoy Rolex like I do art and other classic collectibles. You won't get this from wearable technology. But it still has it's place. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk |

Well you have both so wear both! As others have said, they are appropriate for different occasions/uses.
In my case I went thru a similar question of which to get -- I came into some inheritance and decided to get a nice watch with it. The Apple Watch had just come out and it was "the thing" and also very practical and I'm a big Apple fan and geek. But it's basically a throw-away, since it will (and has) become outdated when the next model is released, etc. So I went with a Rolex because it's "permanent" - it will outlast me and be passed down to my son and maybe his son. That just appealed to me... -Dan

I just upgraded my 42mm Apple Watch Series 2 to a 40mm series 5. Huge improvements.
I went with the Nike edition. Great watch. Having a cheaper Apple Watch (or any less expensive watch) is kinda essentially when traveling with all the nuts out there stealing. Also great for coaching my kids' youth sports team as I don't like wearing expensive watches during those. My wife also wears her Apple Series 3 38mm far more often than her 2- tone ladies meteorite DJ. Both are great watched based on the type of occasion. Quote:

I got my daughter an Apple watch for Christmas and she likes it a lot; for me my phone and my Fitbit 2 provide all I really need. Step count, lap count, and sleep timer. I had another wrist computer early on in the wearable tech game and found it a bit invasive. But as far as the community at large is concerned an Apple watch is the current rage; ultimately wear what you like,

Well i use a lot my apple watch! sometimes i put on my Subdate, i'm on my car ready to go and my phones vibrates and i look to my wrist and see that i'm not wearing the apple watch, i go upstairs and change it.. i'm getting very dependable of this tech, most the notifications that saves a lot of times of getting the phone to see the notification, i can even reply from the watch! i hate it!!! my regular watches are not getting much wrist time!

"You wanna BE the king, you gotta BEAT the king!" -- Ric Flair.
One thing I'll never get used to with the Apple Watch, and many other smart watches, is the need to charge them every other day, or more. If you go out on a weekend camping trip or hike, you cannot rely on your Apple Watch to last. I guess it just doesn't fit my lifestyle.

Tried to offer my wife a Rolex as present this Christmas past... no deal; loves her Apple watch and her only intention is to upgrade to a newer Apple watch as they are released.
I think keeping the Rolex as your dress watch would be the best option. |

If you need to ask you are probably on the wrong forum! Hahahaha
Keep the Apple for a walk or a workout or better still give it to someone as a starter watch |
