Scratched BLNR Ceramic Bezel? Help

Good day all.

I recently noticed my 116710BLNR bezel was showing a scratch. I’ve tried removing with hot water and soap in case it was external mark, also tried using a rubber but it seems permanent. I don’t know how this happened. Any suggestions on how to remove or will this require a complete bezel replacement? Is that costly?

When you run a finger nail over it, can you feel it? Does it feel like something has scratched the bezel or is it sitting on top of it?

Well cannot see it on my phone so must we very superficial, although ceramic inserts are scratch resistant they can scratch and quite costly to replace they were a bit over $320 perhaps more now.

there's a BLNR Bezel for sale in the classifieds if that's driving you crazy enough to replace it

Take it in to an AD and let them have a look. Go from there.

Not as infallible as some may think .. annoying to get a scratch like that ..
Some of us OCD riddled couldn’t live with that .. I’m one .. so good advice is take it to AD .. I’m pretty sure it can be sorted

Try some acetone to make sure if its a scratch or a paint mark.
Such a small ‘scratch’ should no show any white so perhaps you are lucky.

I tried and it didn’t come off. It’s strange that it’s silver in colour.

Hahaha my wife doesn’t wear a diamond ring. Nor do any of the mistresses. 😂 I’d have a rainbow Daytona if I rolled like that lol

I'm guessing if he has a girlfriend, a wife AND a mistress, it won't be the watch that he's banging.

We all have our flaws, adds character. And me personally, I don't want a watch that's going to look perfect years from now if it's a regular wearer.

If you have plans to sell it in the future then maybe pursue getting it fixed - or wait until you plan to sell to figure it out as long as it's still under warranty. If it's a lifer for you, I'd take it in stride and hope for a few more down the road.

Up to you though. But my guess is that mark will fit in nicely with all the scuffed up PCLs.

Very true. I would keep but my concern is I am considering selling this in the near future to help fund a Skydweller.

Ahh I see. Well in that case I would 100% get that fixed. Hopefully still under warranty but even if not, worth the price to fix so you can get that $ and more back if you sell it to fund the Sky.

Any damage caused by owner is not covered by the warranty.

Personally, it wouldn't bother me and I would leave it.

But if it does need to be replaced - am I right in thinking that ceramic bezels can crack quite easily during replacement?
If so, it may be better being done via RSC rather than DIY.
It may cost more, but it's on them if they crack it and need more than one.

Not sure why you think asking for help will make that decision for you. You may as well ask an AD and use a loupe to see better. Never know…

I had a very similar scratch on my blnr bezel. I tried everything to clean it off with no luck. I figured I would just replace at next service. At this point, I felt I had nothing to lose. I taped around the area, used a cape cod cloth and it worked perfect. I am still using the same bezel even after RSC service.
