I have heard it being referred to as "Shadow" which makes sense as it will be in the shadow of the other GMTs. Oh and lacks colour

I am ok with nicknames, GRNR is a tongue twister, and as an immigrant, who speaks English with a heavy accent, makes me sound like a retard pronouncing it.

Are we seriously missing this opportunity bringing Transformers into the nickname mix?

Every model needs to have a nickname...clearly!!

I give myself a self facepalm when someone asks me "what watch is that" and I reply "Kermit" and they either look confused or change the subject. I have gotten a little better and just try to reply "Rolex". That is 99.99% of the time the information they are looking to ascertain.

Gotta run, according to the time on my "oat bran and raisin", I have to get on a zoom call in 10 minutes.

Disclaimer: I made up "oat bran and raisin" but if someone can find a watch that would match that nickname, I'll 100% change my tune and use that all the time.

I am not the biggest advocate of nicknames, but there are already well-established nicknames for these watches.

So, why be such a stick in the mud?

Let it go...

I prefer nicknames inspired by the Mesopotamian pantheon. I’m wearing the Ashur today. This watch you speak of seems more in line with a Nergal. Yes that’s apt nickname choice

"well established"... only on a Fan Site like this.
95% of dealers and 99.9% of people have no clue what a Bluesy / Starbucks / Batgirl are.

In fifty years, by the fireplace:

Grandkids, come closer. Let me share the story of when I coined a nickname for a Rolex bezel. It was April 2024, a moment that forever altered history. While others were engrossed in advancing AI, self driving cars, and space exploration, I delved into my parents basement, rifling through the fridge and my old comic book collection, seeking a clue that would unveil the perfect moniker…

Came back to the Rolex forums to see news on watches and wonders after a while away. Nice to see nothing's changed. Author a thread, and no end of Karens come to say you shouldn't have posted, what you want to do is dumb...blah blahh...

My vote Coke Zero (LOL) where's the damn Coke Original?

Sorry bro, the lamest are the posters who have so much time on their hands they come to a thread they are not interested in just to insult others.

Lighten up it’s a bit of fun, not everyone knows the reference numbers or just likes fun with the watches so a nickname goes with it, of course it’s daft - but seriously lighten up it’s just a bit of fun ..

Batman, Batgirl, Kermit, Cookie Monster - is this the equivalent of the humorous tie, or the ostentatious mustard-colored socks to a perfectly agreeable navy suit? Aka somewhere in here, a free spirit is still alive?

As much love and respect I have for Rolex (and still love my luckily nickname-void GMT all-black bezel), the increasing infantilization regarding the brand is a huge put-off.

Waving a nice watch goodbye that will probably go down as Bruce Wayne…

Its SS and TT GRNR. Don't give it a stupid nickname as it will be one of the main incomings for the next year as its the only SS release.
