Me, too. I find myself wearing it more often than my beautiful silver dial OP.

I can't think of a better hardcore daily beater than the 36 mm Explorer.

It wears smaller because the current exp 1 has a 19mm lug width rather than the standard 20mm. The diameter is the same but the bracelet is smaller so it is actually a smaller watch if you consider the bracelet part of the watch

Black dials also seem visually smaller than lighter dials

Spot on

I was about to buy one last year until I tried it on. Bracelet is too tapered for my liking. YMMV

I’d say Explorer but I love everyone saying a 36 DD. That is a bad-ass answer. Respect.

When it comes to 36mm Rolex daily beaters, a popular choice is the Rolex Datejust. It's versatile, reliable, and looks great for everyday wear.

Beater is not the right way of thinking about this.
36mm flutter/jubilee would be a great 36mm daily wear M-T, switch to sport model F—Sun.

I have a 36 OP and absolutely love it, swim with it, wear it often. I would vote OP or Explorer. Explorer is the obviously answer / choice...for good reason.

Love 36 mm explorer, but here in Asia probably the most seen is fluted 36mm datejust on jubilee

I got good mileage out of this one. Full Arabic dial on a DJ36.

I have an OP 36 yellow dial which is a daily as well as my DJ36 blue with fluted bezel on jubilee and they are both comfortable daily wearers.

Uhhhh Day-Date is the correct answer :)

If you don't have $25-60k to spend on a DD36, then the blue motif DJ36 (fluted jubilee), green palm DJ36 (smooth oyster), or Exp1 would be solid choices.

My daily is an Explorer 36 but I'd hardly consider it a beater. Only on a forum like this would a $7k watch be described as a beater. It's obvious that I'm on the low end of the income scale here.

You and me, both! I don’t consider my$500 to $1,000 Seikos beaters, either! G shock: maybe…..

I want to say exp 1 because i own it, but if i'm honest, i would say dd36 platinum with baguette dial. Metal color is understated (you know if you know), ticks the PM box, has some nice heft to feel that you're wearing a watch, color goes with absolutely everything, robust enough for daily activities with kids or house chores / gardening, can be work as a sport-ish piece of a black tie event piece. All in all i don't think you could realistically need any other watch.
