Questions on DD stella
I refer to a DD stella found on a HK vintage shop which I have two questions without answers from when I learnt:
1. Thre engraving of model number is at middle height without the wordings "registered design" - I found it abnormal but not sure there exist genuine exceptional cases. 2. The minute hand is not long enough to reach the minute markings. I found more than less the minute hand should lbe long enough to reach the minute markings. Is this normal to have variations? Many thanks if experts here can educate. |

from the colours you can tell the hands are replacements (or re-lumed), so that can clarify pointer no. 2

But I am still pluzzed on what is original minute hand length of 1803 and 18038 (or like) should be, as I saw some shorter and some longer, with or wihtout color match. |

Hard to tell what has happened over the years, things get changed. Not a huge problem on a DD but can certainly be replaced if you like. Your DD wheels should be gold as well.

From what you said, it seems that long minute hand is original and shorter one is replacement. I dont know about date wheel. Can you educate golden date wheel is for a particular model or for a particular era? Many thx! The model engraving also puzzled me. I don't think this shop sells non-genuine one but the engraving is unusual. Any one has input? p.s. This is not my watch. |

The color of the wheels relate to the color of the writing and markers. White would be for a silver/wg dial. Can't help you with the engraving, my interest pretty much ends at 4 digit refs.
You could search images on google and probably find it. |

Yes, my question is should an original matching minute hand be longer than it was pictured above and should be reaching the minute markers. I surfed through the web and noticed most of them should and some but not most are not that long.
