Concerns on my 18k President band.

Last month I bought an 18k President band for my 18078. After wearing it a month I have noticed what appears to be tarnishing between the links. My first thought was this is not solid gold. I took it to a different jeweler which tested it an said it's 18k gold. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

First it could be bio bits and soap. Try cleaning it with soap, water and a soft toothbrush. If it stays, it's normal, 18K gold is an alloy that is 75% gold and the remaining 25% are other elements. Patina is what you see not tarnish. I think that it gives the watch a nice look and character. It's easy enough to remove.

Thx for the info. Glad to hear that it's normal. I'll leave it just the way it is. When I bought the watch it had a cheap strap on it. I checked a few pawn shops and found a President band. They came down to $3,500 us which is a good deal. Wore it about a month and saw the patina. I took it to another jewelry store. They checked it out and said it was in fact 18k. Now that you told me it's patina I'll sleep better tonight. Thx buddy.
