Lovely watches, I am a big fan of seeing a men sized watch on a girl sized wrist, a little tom boyish, but also shows off the inherent delicacy of the girl. :)

Hi ladies, i currently have the ladies oyster perpetual, but find it too small. I've seen some of the pics here of the 36mm and 40mm Yachtmaster i'm considering and would love any opinions. The 40mm seems more widely available- do you think it looks significantly bigger than the 36mm? I love bigger chunkier watches but am having a tough time deciding. probably should go try them on at the boutique :p

Do you mean you're comparing the midsize (35 mm) Yachtmaster with the 40?

Yes, the 40mm looks substantially larger. Most definitely try them on. GL!

What is your wrist size? Mine is just under 6.5". I owned a YM a few years back and found it to be very comfortable due to the curved lugs. I now wear a Daytona which is 40mm and find it to also be very comfy.

I'd really recommend that you visit a dealer and try both the 35mm mid-size YM and the 40mm men's size YM. Do this several times before making a final decision. Then come back and post pics for us!

Thank you so much for the input!! I'm leaning towards midsize right now. I havent found any through the members here but found one through one of the online dealers with positive reviews in TRF. I found one near-mint for approx $5950 (platinum/ss) with papers etc. Should i try to negotiate more? Everyone has been so helpful here- i am so appreciated. And, I am loving seeing everyone's gorgeous watches in this thread!

If you love bigger chunkier watches, then you will have to go with the 40mm. Side by side, the 40mm does look noticeably larger.

I was comparing the midsize YM with the 40mm. I may have to go try them on. I feel like my Ladies sized OP looks so small on me, but have also read that some women find the 40mm a bit uncomfortable. The midsize seems like it might be a good option. Anyone with a 40mm here have any thoughts?

Yeah, I know it isn't an Rolex, but it's vintage :-)

By the way, my Tudor Lady Sub measures 26mm without the crown so you can see it is pretty centered on my wrist. My wrist, in my opinion, is boney and large (6.5). I prefer the smaller faced watches because I like a watch face "centered" on my wrist not over powering it. But, that's just me. I could live happily ever after with just a bunch of old vintage watches but just recently bought the Tudor Lady Sub for variety in my collection. I don't LOVE it as much as I do my vintage watches but it is growing on me for when I wear a business suit.

OMG i'm dying with all the new candy that's been posted today! Thank you ladies again for your input. I did some research, some thinking and some trying on, and have decided to go with the midsize! As tempting as 40mm was, i feel that the midsize will suit my tastes now and in the future! I work in a nerdy department in finance and want to be able to wear it daily regardless of what i'm wearing. I placed my order today and can't wait to post photos when it arrives in 2 weeks!!

Congrats, sounds like a wonderful choice! I think you'll be very happy with that size.

Hi Dotty, welcome to TRF. The watch you describe sounds fab...I have its cousin, but SS 31mm white dial, Roman, Jubilee.

I skimmed the thread but didn't see the particular model I'm interested in--the TT DJ, 31mm, stainless and Everose, white MOP dial with Roman numerals, Jubilee band -- and NO diamonds! This seems like a particularly hard model to find "in the wild." I'd love to see one on another lady's wrist!

Hi, all! :)

I`m new to this forum, and have bought my first Rolex, but I`m now not sure if I should keep it, or go for a 31mm instead...What do you think?

Hi, all :)
I`m having a hard time deciding between a 26mm, see picture, and a 31mm. I can also choose a mop dial with roman numbers or diamonds, but I think this in champagne is beautiful too, not so common...
Please tell me your thoughts, this is my first Rolex.

Welcome to TRF, Irene! I think a 31mm would look fantastic given your wrist size. Is it one you'd considered before purchasing the smaller DJ?
